No. Just finished watching the Indy 500. Only the largest single sporting event in the great USA. Listen to the winners and how they mention EVERY one else before they even give themselves any credit for the win. Unlike the nfl players who do a dance after they make a not so special tackle. Thats what they get paid to do for gods sake. They dance as if they were the only ones on the field. A true representation of the "ME" generation. Tell me the names of present day nfl players who will return to their communities the good will they receive from the fools who pay their highly inflated salaries? Can you name 5, 10?

"or are you bent that a woman just finished 4th in the INDY 500? "
To the contrary. I was happy she finished in the top 10. I was hoping she won it today. She is a good example of a true sportsman. Did you hear her being interviewed afterward? What a true sport. She took little credit for her 4th place win. She credited the owners and crew and the obligatory sponsors, in that order. Then she mentioned her mistakes that cost her the win. She will be back and she will be be a driver to contend with.

Beg to differ (yet again). The Daytona 500 is easily the biggest race out there. Matter of fact, the NASCAR race that goes on at Indy is bigger than the Indy 500.
As for sporting events, NOTHING beats the Super Bowl in the US. World wide, and I hate to say it, the World Cup is even bigger...

everythings cool just like to clear things up.

My apologies. You are right. The Indy 500 is no longer the largest single day attendance event. It used to be just a few years ago. The Brickyard does not even release attendance figure any longer. They used to draw 500,000 on race day. I believe Danica will increase viewers next year though. My hearty congrats to you Danica.

Listen to the winners and how they mention EVERY one else before they even give themselves any credit for the win. They have to thank their sponsors because its in their contract.
Seriously, you have a unhealthy anger toward NFL players and athletes in general. Just like the general public, some are nice and some are not.
And by definition, players cannot be "overpaid" - their worth is set by what the owners are willing the pay them.
To: hophead
The Indy 500 is no longer the largest single day attendance event. The Indy 500 has been drawfed in television audience numbers forever. Almost every NASCAR race draws more views than the Indy 500. The same with a Monday Night Football game.

Isn't that amazing? Folx who don't care about the subject of a thread care enough to post to it and tell us how much they don't like it.

Let me guess how the race went.
A bunch of cars went around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around a big oval track, and one of them finished first and was declared the winner.
wow.
