Oh, please vote, at the very least to see the result when the next President takes office and has to kowtow to a third party that's expanded. I prefer the Libertarians' platform to most of the others, but it doesn't really matter which you or I pick, to be honest.

So pick one, but don't skip the vote. At the very least you can be a pissed off Constitution party nutjob or member of the LP Blue Man group.

Me, I'm thinking Natural Law party would be fun. You just have to learn the new-agey cant that John Hagelin has down, and get a glassy-eyed-cult-just-let-you-out-for-the-first-time look. I can pull that off.

Charles Krauthammer just said on FoxNews, that after tonight the Senate recesses until after Memorial Day, and Bush may make Bolton a recess appointment and his appointment will last until 2006.

Look for the Democrats to discover a new rule preventing recess appointments.

Look for the Republicans to stand, awestruck at the Democrats ability, whilst they roll over and accept yet another loss.

You all will come around eventually, but by then it may be too late. Viewing both parties as tools of global MNCs and banks explains all sorts of strange political results, like defying the will of 3/4 of American to get control of borders. It explains why the Law of the Sea Treaty and other dangerous treaties are not dead on arrival in a Republican Congress. It explains why environmental laws cannot be reformed; Weyerhaueser was the biggest factor stopping ESA reform in 1994. But you'll have to look beyond the newspapers to see the truth.

Interesting. You should write a blog.

The thing that is interesting here is that the Dems knew they were going to spring this at the same time they were "negotiating" the "compromise." They are snakes and weasels.

They are effective, and we are morons.

But I sure don't have any motivation to vote.

Thank you for that.

Because that's my exact feeling as well. I'd never vote for Hillary. But it's not beyond the pale that I'll not vote at all.

But damn it all it's years till a vote and that's the problem.

You see, I'm JEALOUS of the Democrats. Yes, I used to be a Democrat and I now find myself yearning for something I had as a Democrat that I've yet to gain in my barely decade long Republican self.

The Democrats FIGHT for their voters. They fight like the dickens and they fight to the death.

It doesn't matter whether they fight fair or even if they do everything all legal and above board. They fight like the scrappy dogs they are.

I can't get even a tenth of that out of my new Republican party. I wallow out here with the rest of you and feel so damn alone. I never felt like that when I was a Democrat.

When the Democrats are in the majority they act like the majority. The plow right on through like a steamroller and they do what they need to do. Now, in a rare historic time the Dems are in a minority and STILL they fight like dogs for their voters.

Instead I am represented by a bunch of smooth haired, manicured, extremely polite gentlemen who, as is my vision of them now, have their hands all twisted in knots...what to do, what to do.

When I was a Democrat I never felt alone. My devoted construction worker Dad, me and my brother would spend months, plotting and planning how to rig the voting machines on election day. It took a lot of planning, getting the electricians to zap the machines, figuring out when to sneak into the precincts.

The Democratic politicians would always hang around, we were wooed and we were loved. Yes labor was their interest group but when they needed us to do something nasty that we may remain in power they recruited our help.

I miss it.

There is nothing respectful about allowing someone to run roughshod over you. I don't want to hear that nothing can be done, that good people don't expect to be mistreated, that it is all the RINO's fault.

There's ways. And no you don't have to go rigging vote machines as I wrote of my very true childhood experience but do not consider this the way to go. But there's ways.

Arizona suddenly finds a few big air force bases closed. Funding for Dodd's pet project is cut. Frist, no matter how many defend him, should have taken this bull by the horns and called for an up and down vote IMMEDIATELY.

Now with this Bolton thing, well I'm not going back to being a Democrat.

I just don't care anymore. I sure can't make them do what the voters voted them in to do. I am only one person.

One person who admires the Democrats for fighting for their voters.

I'd like to know how that feels.

In a word, yes. If you're interested in a lot of reading about the subject, here's a good place to start:

He would bring Senators over to the White House and threaten to take their Pork or break their knee caps or something, but he kept them in line.

I always liked that line of LBJ's -- "Get 'em by the balls -- their hearts and minds will follow!"

Dang, two of the sub-links on that page didn't work. Only the middle one does, though that was the one I was looking for to give you anyway.

I have news for you, Democrats didn't fight for their voters. They fight like dogs for power & they do it as a pack. They have the collectivist mentality.

When a Republican fights, he does it like a Republican, as an individual. Leading Republicans is a lot like herding cats. You can get most of them going in the right direction using a whole lotta energy, but if you get too pushy about it, they'll turn on you, hiss at you & refuse to go the way you want them to go. On the occasions any Republicans fight like dogs, they join the pack, which means turning their backs against their own party.

I'm baaack! I could not find it. Considering the tactic used by Byrd in '79, it is possible that Frist put something in the Senate record months ago & there is no way I'm going to comb through all of that to find what I was looking for.
