Earlier today, there was a 100 + post rant thread attacking McCain over a quote he didn't make. It was actually Juan Williams spinning what he thought McCain was really thinking.

There are plenty of reasons to attack McCain - but at least let it be for something he actually did/said.

ohioWfan , Justshe.

Leaders lead, leaders are out in front of the herd, not just cowering and following behind in the dust like a cow patty eating sheep dog.

Frist does not have the guts to fight for what he politically believes, if he has ever believed in anything worth fighting for?

He is the perfect patsy to be rolled, and the Dems are rolling him over like the wooden log he is.

OK........I'll ignore the (stupid) personal attack, and stick with the facts.

You said that Conservatives have NO representation in Congress, and I said poppycock.

There are strong conservatives, there are weaker conservatives, there are moderates, and there are RINOS. As a Conservative, they do not all represent me (trust me.........I'm from Ohio), but to make the extremist comments you did, is to deny the truth.

I heard Frist and J.C. Watts at GOPAC last night..........did you? Did you hear what Frist said? Did you?

Message to the RINOS: SUCKERS!!!!!

The Constitutional option was held open for judicial appointments at the beginning of this session. IOW, there was a place marker put in for it in this session's rules.

Could you elaborate on that? Why couldn't a point of order motion be made on the Bolton nomination?

Surely you don't have to reserve point of order motions in advance of a session.

Yep Frist needs to keep them there all weekend in session for the real thing. If they asked to leave Bush should make it clear he will make the recess appointment.

The RATS call to stay and have a real filerbuster, vote for cloture and get out of town, or ask to leave and it happens anyway--but trhey do so knowing it.

That would should them up for the grandstanding obstructionists they are.

"Actually it takes 3/5's and since Specter and Inouyi had left town 40 was all that were needed."

My understanding is that it takes 3/5 of the entire membership of the Senate regardless of how many members are present. That's why a crapload of RATs can go home during a filibuster and the GOP can't break the filibuster with their 55 votes.

He's not cowering. He's standing up for the President's nominees.

He's just more patient (and more decent) than you are.

First of all, they would take MONTHS to examine the documents and THEN find out there are more documents we need to see- more months- and they would KEEP doing that until they finally announce they think the Republicans are holding out complete discloser of ALL documents- FILIBUSTER.

The number of ignorant Freepers on this thread who have no clue what is taking place in the senate is amazing.

I hate to say this but Bush doesnt have the balls to straighten out these Republican senators either.

RightO! LBJ was a Dim, but give him credit ---- He had a set! He would bring Senators over to the White House and threaten to take their Pork or break their knee caps or something, but he kept them in line.

Meanwhile, our Fearless Leader has the "New Tone". That's working real well, now isn't it! We need a Balls to the Wall Republican Leader!!!

Yes, their resistance to anything is a sign that it would probably be good for the country, and their approval of anything is a sign that it would probably be bad for the country.

They are the perfect contrarian indicators of right and wrong, with few exceptions.
