If you feel the Republican'ts represent you, then you must be a spineless slug who folds tent and caves in whenever somebody says boo, because that is exactly the way the Republican'ts conducts themselves.

Tell us again--you feel the Republican'ts REALLY represent you?

That would be sooooooooooo funny.

Pelosi, Kennedy, and Dean would all froth at the mouth and stroke out with an aneurysm.

I hate to say this but Bush doesnt have the balls to straighten out these Republican senators either. Now the RNC if they had nuts they would shut down funds and support other candidates in these RINO's districts.

I didn't say a LIKELY scenario! Although, I wouldn't put it past McCain to pull a Perot this time out. I can easily seeing him getting pushed even further into the land of insanity when he gets his 5 or 6 Republican votes (plus however many Dems will switch parties again just to vote in the primaries for him)to the point where he runs as an Independent (or maybe starts a Straight Talk party to go along with the Straight Talk Express. It might pull sufficient numbers of Northeast RINOs to vote for him to hand the Presidency to the Dems in 2008.

What part of the agreement that said "only" judicial nominations do all of you not understand? Can you people not read or hear?

You already know the answer to that.

At the very least, they (the 7 traitors) will vote with the dems against some of Bush's Judicial nominees. Supreme Court appointees, likely.

I actually heard Chaffee say yesterday that a Supreme Court appointment with only a small margin(ie 52-48) would be bad for the country.

IOW he wants the DUmbocRATS to approve, fat chance that will ever happen, hopefully.

If the DUmmies likely the nominee I would be VERY suspicious, LOL.

"I was counting votes... as soon as I heard 40 "Nay" votes, I posted."

For future reference, it takes 60 votes to invoke cloture, so therefore it would take *41* votes to guarantee that cloture will not be approved.

ROFLOL! The documents are classified, and have been reviewed and proven to have nothing incriminating in them.

The Dems are liars and obstructionists. Go tell that to your friends.........

I often wonder whether some of our fellow Freepers are actually the incestuous offspring of the simplest of simpletons over at DU, who have no purpose here other than to make the rest of us look stupid.

No kidding. Their blusterous ignorant rants are getting a bit embarrassing.

Read the agreement and then come back and tell us it is for all nominees not just judges!

This is true as I understand it. However, all of us have had to endure the self-important Messianic chest beating for two days - how the moderate Republicans saved the day, kept the Senate from going over a cliff, a new era of bipartisanship, peace and love and joyu reigneth forever and ever.

Now, two days later, the Democrats are proving once again that they will stand and fight, and Republicans have once again lost.

No, they will say that the deal only applied to "Judicial" fillibusters.

Recess appointments make so much sense with cabinet appointments. They don't last beyond the president's tenure, anyway. So you might as well do it.

For the same reason recess appointments of judges is a stupid tactic, the exact opposite is true for executive branch appointees. So long as the appointee has majority support, there is no reason not to.

Excellent.

I want to see them sleeping in.

On cots.

Reading the phone book.

Challenging each other to duels.

Both sides can't be wimps.

Make them do a real filibuster.

After careful research. I have concluded that a real filubuster would last between 6 and 48 hours with approximately 24 hours being the most likely.

That would be the time it would take for Ted Kennedy to go into alcohol withdrawl seizures.

Alcohol-withdrawal seizures — Seizures may occur 6 to 48 hours after the last drink, and it is common for several seizures to occur over several hours. The risk peaks at 24 hours.

Actually it takes 3/5's and since Specter and Inouyi had left town 40 was all that were needed.

I think Frist should now know what to do with the judges....

As for Bolton, since the Dems won't even vote for cloture, why doesnt W just say that we just wont be represented or responsible for the UN anymore and they can get out?

I know I know it wont happen, but that would make the libs heads explode....

Do not expect the wimp Frist to do anything about this. He does not have the guts or desire.

After the cloture vote, Harry Reeeeeeed stood before the Senate and said that the this was not a filibuster. So, why a cloture vote? That is used only to break a filibuster.

This is why the Senate Republicans will eventually lose this battle: The DeathoCrats will do and say anything to win. They will lie, cheat, steal, whatever it takes.

The Senate Republicans on the other hand do not need to stoop to that level. All they need to do is act like a majority. But, that takes guts and a strong leader. Frist is no leader. And he wants to run for President??

Frist is a lost leader. He is weak. McPain took him on, and won.

The Republicans have nothing to fear except themselves.
