Bolton fails to get the 60 votes to invoke cloture. Dem filbuster is on.
I was sitting here laughing at the first part of this thread when people were intentionally ignoring facts in order to bash. They say the same things on a host of threads and then get put out if they are challenged. It really is comical.
Better yet, he needs an early retirement, so he can spend time with his kids and grandkids in case the world falls apart because John Bolton is at the UN acting like a bully.....
I could live with that. ;o)
FOTFL! Stupid "what's"??? Too funny. LOL!
That Recall got really nasty and we had a lot of disruptors playing with the two sides. I still have that list -- need to go through some notebooks and see if I can find the 2000 list -- that list was added to daily and sometimes hourly! :)
I thought all of us were going to get zotted during the Recall that one when one of the guys told me to quit posting so I could stay around!
You couldn't nail me on Rush so you're going to try it with statistics? LOL
I don't remember the warning time on the Oakfield tornado, but it was only briefly an F-5. Most of the path was F-4, especially through Oakfield (where it took out a cannery).
I get the feeling that quite a few US companies were cashing in on the Oil-for-Suicide-Bombers scam. And it all happened under Blozo Clinton with a nod and a wink.
What good is "45 good Republicans" if the majority surrenders to the minority?
The "leadership" does a poor job of controlling their members. If you don't become a puppet to the RAT leadership, you are out as far as the RATs are concerned. In this respect, the RATs are better than the Republican'ts.
Frist and the other leaders could make it so that these traitors lose their power. They can withhold key positions and committee positions, but they don't.
The RATs keep their people in line. It may be disgusting with that method, but it gives them power. This makes the minority party have greater power than the Republicans. Since Supreme Court positions will be on the line and other crucial issues are being voted on, I would rather see the Republcians "act a little less like gentlemen" and start acting like they are at war with the RATS, because the fact is, the RATs are at war with them.
If I come across it, I'll tell you, and I just might, since I'll be going thru all the stuff in my computer room over the weekend.
PKM and I had a great time compiling the lists. I think it was our outlet. Gave us something to laugh about.
I live in a very Blue state, and we have few GOPers in the pipeline. We work for the most Conservative candidates we can find - sometimes they aren't as Conservative as we would like, but any movement that way is progress.
None of our "establishment" candidates are GOPers, so every one we get is a success, even if they get trashed as being RINOs or whatever.
It can take awhile to get to the end point, but progress is significant anyway.
I wonder what the recall rules are in Ohio (and the world, or at least our corner of it, is more likely to fall apart without Bolton at the UN :-)
I think Frist knows he doesn't have the votes to do it. The loss of 6 Pub votes on the nuke option would kill it, and there are twice that many RINOs who are opposed to using it. Some of those would probably vote for it to avoid possible repercussions back home, but I believe there are at least 6 who wouldn't.
Limp wrist Graham has already announced that he won't vote for the option under any circumstances, and i'm pretty sure there are several others who won't either.
You echo Rush, and pretend that it's your own idea. You say that you belong to the "majority party", and can't figure out which one that is.
Now, that's a LOL!!
I have been defending Snowe and Collins on here this week for that very reason. They are liked in Maine and the people of Maine would never elected an Inhofe or Coburn. You work to elect the most conservative candidate but a conservative from Maine would be a moderate in Oklahoma. People have to recognize the difference and in the case of Snowe and Collins they vote with Republicans a lot more than against.
All politics is local and people have to realize that not every State is going to elect Conservatives. We have to take small steps in those states and bashing our elected officials and calling them RINOs is dumb IMHO because not all Republicans are conservative which doesn't seem to get through to some people on here.
see post #365
How exactly did they 'cave' on this one?
It was the RATS who promised to vote with the majority who did the betraying in this case.
Or don't you let that little fact interfere with your Republican bashing fun?
Specter has been a lot better than I ever imagined. He got these nominations out of Judiciary and I wasn't even sure that would happen.
BTW, I was totally against him getting the head of Judiciary but with all the heat Specter received he has done a pretty good job.
