Bolton fails to get the 60 votes to invoke cloture. Dem filbuster is on.
Some of the blowhards go back to before the 2000 election when they were Buchananites but we also had some McCain supporters on here as well at the time. Noticed they changed screen names some several times while those of us "real" Conservative Republicans keep our screen names.
Three of them.......including DeWine.......have already said they would vote for the Constitutional option. Now whether or not they actually meant it, who knows?
I think he is losing it too! It was one of the oddest things I ever saw on the floor of the Senate. You would have thought his best friend died the way he acted. Really weird.
AND, I belong to the MAJORITY party.
Yew. We conservatives in PA are still upset by that. I hope we can get rid of Arlen next time around.
Why would people of conviction have to keep changing screennames anyway?
And how exactly does a McCainiac feel about his hero now that he's messed up the judicial nominating process for the Conservatives?
Guess they should've gotten that in writing (assuming, of course, a floor vote on Bolton was an unspoken part of the "deal"). At least they didn't publicly throw away ambassadors or other nominations.
I truly wish that Frist would have brought up one of the 5 judges whose fates are unknown before Bolton (heck, I would've done it either before or concurrent with Owen); then, when the RATs continued with their filibuster, gotten DeWine and Graham on board with an expanded Constitutional Option, one that would have also encompassed Bolton. But, we are where we are, and Frist took a different calculated risk.
What's with Voinivich? I saw a replay of him on TV and no one gets that teary-eyed on the floor of the Senate over a UN nominee. I don't get him at all.
Someone from Ohio can probably answer better than I, but he seems to be a touchy-feely breed of RINO.
The spirit of the agreement was broken, so the Republican infamous seven have a good case to vote for the nuclear option. Don't give me that "only judicial nominations" BS. If you sign an agreement not to murder me and then you go out and beat me within an inch of my life, the spirit of the agreement has been broken. This is what the Dems have done by using unprecidented obstructionist tactics to block a UN Ambassador!!
It's a UN AMBASSADOR, why do the Dems even care?? Who are they going to block next, the White House chef???
I wouldn't vote for a 3rd party if you paid me. I am extremely happy with my Republian Senators Inhofe and Coburn and my Congressman Tom Cole -- all conservatives.
Your 3rd party rhetoric doesn't fly in the Great State of Oklahoma where we have Republican Conservatives now in charge of the Oklahoma House for the first time in 82 years.
Starts at the grassroots in the trenches if you want conservative Republicans elected. If all you do is mouth off about how terrible Republicans are then you can go to your 3rd party malcontents but I will stick with the "Real" Conservative Republican in my State.
Do you suppose he just got his feelings hurt because half the state of Ohio is furious with him, or does he need some counseling?
We sure do! I think we should work hard to keep the ones we have, and get more of them.
I'll spend my money and energy to elect the most Conservative person I can, and I'll look at their record. I won't judge them based on the record of liberal GOPers, over which they have no control.
Good luck. Just don't expect any help from the RNC.
It's hard not to be hostile to the spineless republicans in the senate. They sell out thier constituents, the people who voted for conservatism, daily to socialism. And they have no spine for a fight.
They're not even smart enough to figure out why they were elected in the first place.
I just wondered why all of a sudden he cares so much about this nomination, when he didn't bother to show up at the hearings on Bolton?
Bib Chr and I used to go after the McClones as we called them back then. Changing your screen name a lot tells me that that person wants to pretend to be someone else. I know people that have done it once but some of these folks have done it a lot more than once.
Their posts to this day remain anti-Republican and anti-Bush -- not hard to spot when you see someone from before the 2000 election. They love to post they are never voting Republican again or giving any more money to Republicans -- like I believe they voted or donated money to Republicans.
LOL!!! That must have been some phone call! :)
