Republican'ts made one of the biggest blunders of all time was when they caved-in on the filibuster issue, in great part due to a "threat" by the RATs to shut down the government.

They might as well shut the government down, they're not accomplishing anything anyway.

I'm staking my 2006 vote on whether Bolton gets in or not.

He should remove ALL the RINOs from all important senate committees and send them to meaningless ones.

I actually heard Chaffee say that they won't be mean to the RINO's because the Jeffords experience is still too fresh in their minds. Who's running the friggin place? Answer, no one, as usual.

I sincerely hope Bush employs a RECESS APPOINTMENT for Bolton.

Biden and Dodd won't be happy until they've dug to China, they're only fishing for things they are NOT sincere.

IMHO all this will hurt the DUmbocRATs in the long run. The less power they have the meaner they get, it's very ugly but the "everybody does it" is clearly a falsehood.

That is what Mort Kondrake said in Brit Hume show a short time ago. He said that the buzz among Republicans in the Congress is that President Bush will appoint Bolton as ambassador to the UN in the Congress recess session that starts tomorrow.

The Dims are so depraved they have sold their souls to maintain power. There is only one way to deal with mad dogs.

Oh yea? Well if so, the Republican'ts have acted like the spineless slugs they are and are afraid to deal with these "mad dogs".

The GOP symbol is no longer the elephant, it is now Barney Fife.

Frists should have said on the floor of the senate after the cloture vote failed that McCain's deal clearly failed. That McCain banking on "trust" was clearly naive. And he should have kept them in session over the holiday weekend.

...Frist will not win on this one. I suspect the 7 Rinos are lined up with Voinovitch and will betray Frist. The WILL NOT vote for the nuclear option. Take that to the bank....

At the very least, they (the 7 traitors) will vote with the dems against some of Bush's Judicial nominees. Supreme Court appointees, likely.

I think the Dems need a lesson in hardball:

Recess the Senate for a few hours.

Announce Recess Appointment.

Reconvene the Senate.

Frist should have made the 'Rats have a real FILIBUSTER years ago if they were going to "filibuster" the judges and/or Bolton!!!

Frist doesn't have the balls to be LEADER!
Never has, never will!

He is a quiet man of principle.

It remains to be seen whether or not he is a leader. This story is not over yet.

May 30 - June 3 Senate not in session
May 30 Memorial Day (observed)
June 6 (Monday)
Senate reconvenes
Let 'em go home, give 'em hell!

Screw that. If this is a real, important filibuster, they cannot "phone it in" while on vacation.

Recess appointments make so much sense with cabinet appointments. They don't last beyond the president's tenure, anyway. So you might as well do it.

You don't need no nuclear on this one.
