For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday...
Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces.

Canteen Backyard Cookout!!

Okay, who's cooking??

Tomkow? Old Sarge? Tonkin? HiJinx? Auntie Fawnn? Ma??????

Long weekends sometimes are family backyard cookouts.
While this weekend is Memorial Weekend, which we in the Canteen take seriously, a little kickoff fun is planned.
We thank our Troops for their service to our nation.

We have some beer!

Some eats!

Some fishing....

Some lounging around...

You a Redneck??
You might be a Redneck if your pickup looks like this!
Some more beer!

Somemore lounging around...

Tomkow has to show off at every Canteen party!
Soooo, what's your idea of a Backyard Cook Out?

The Good Stuff for 26 May, 2005

The Word
"He [the righteous man] is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away."--Psalm 1:3-4

The Founder
"Human happiness and moral duty are inseparably connected." --George Washington

The Joke
A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and -- standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories -- causing the manager to come out of his office to ask them to leave.
“But, why?” they ask.
“Because, I can’t stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.”

The Hero--Today's Medal of Honor Recipient

JOHN MAPES ADAMS

John Mapes Adams, Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during Boxer Rebellion in China and recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Rank and organization: Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps. Born: 11 October 1871, Haverhill, Mass.
Accredited to: Massachusetts.

Good evening, Unc!

When we were teenagers we learned to ignite double tipped wooden matches with a thumbnail flick. Then we progressed to John Wayne them on the seat of our pants. After a while we had to carry our wallets in our front pockets.

HI Ma- I am on my way! YEAH it is almost race time! I am taking my digital camera so I can get photos of all of the troops I see on Sunday.

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. And I am mindful that while I am off to one of my favorite places around- there are men and women away from home and in a place that is not fun.

This Memorial Day Weekend I will remember them every step of the way.

LISTEN TO BACK HOME AGAIN IN INDIANA

Every time you go to church you come home hungry... did you see the breakfast pictures on the Chapel website?

We said Grace, ate, then praised Him some more!

Maybe, you should suggest this to your congregation...

In the meantime, here's a dill pickle!
