For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday...
Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces.
Canteen Backyard Cookout!!
Okay, who's cooking??
|
|
Tomkow? Old Sarge? Tonkin? HiJinx? Auntie Fawnn? Ma??????
Long weekends sometimes are family backyard cookouts. While this weekend is Memorial Weekend, which we in the Canteen take seriously, a little kickoff fun is planned. We thank our Troops for their service to our nation.
We have some beer!
Some eats!
Some fishing....
Some lounging around...
You a Redneck?? You might be a Redneck if your pickup looks like this!
Some more beer!
Somemore lounging around...
Tomkow has to show off at every Canteen party! Soooo, what's your idea of a Backyard Cook Out?

I hope you enjoy it. Just season it to your taste. Watch that celery salt though.
It's always a hit when I take it to potluck dinners.

I really enjoy your Jet pictures. Someday, I want just one ride on a Military Jet! :)

Sounds delicious. Something not too difficult for this not too much of a chef. I know that's a dish my hubby will love! Thanks.

I am a danged good cook and prefer simple easy dishes to fix. When one is cooking for 10 or more at every meal- there is a need to keep things simple and tasty.

For a cat, everything is a conspiracy.
Whether it's a good one or not can be judged by whether the fur is standing on end or not.
(Good conspiracy for cats leaves them with looks of outrageous curiosity on their fuzzy faces..)

Cooking for 10 or more everyday. Wow!!!! That's a full time job alone! :)
We have large gatherings of family/friends at our home sometimes. I use to stress out. LOL! My husband is excellent at preparing food, so I have learned to make ahead my dishes and he does the rest. whew. No more stressing over food for guests here. :)

Unfortunately, My husband and I are very allergic to cats. When I was a kid, we lived on a large property. My mother allowed us to take in the strays. There were and still are too many strays out there. We had litters of 13 kittens at one time. I wasn't allergic back then, at least not to this degree. What a great memory.

I grew up with cats myself.
Am slightly allergic to two of our fuzzy beasties. (contact dermatitis)
The rest of the cats don't do that to me, just the two.
*shrugs*
I have weird allergies.

Allergies are weird. I always tease my sister. She had a cat that I had my first allergic reaction to at about 18. Ever since that cat, I have a reaction to most. But more or less depending on the cat. Skin, eyes and nose. My husband can have severe asthma related allergies to them.
