Kerry's dodges "At this point, it comes as no surprise. John Kerry is releasing all his military records but then again, he isn't," Boston Globe columnist Joan Vennochi writes.
"During an interview [Monday] with Globe editorial writers and columnists, the former Democratic presidential nominee was asked if [he] had signed Form SF 180, authorizing the Department of Defense to grant access to all his military records." the columnist said.
" 'I have signed it,' Kerry said. Then, he added that his staff was 'still going through it' and 'very, very shortly, you will have a chance to see it.' "The devil is usually in the details. With Kerry, it's also in the dodges and digressions. After the interview, Kerry's communications director, David Wade, was asked to clarify when Kerry signed SF 180 and when public access would be granted. Kerry first said he would sign Form 180 when pressed by Tim Russert during a Jan. 30 appearance on 'Meet the Press.' "Six months after Kerry's loss to George W. Bush, it feels somewhat gratuitous to point out how hard it can be to get a clear, straight answer from Kerry on this and other matters. But as long as the Massachusetts senator is thinking about another presidential run, the candor gap remains on the table, because he puts it there."

He signed it and then locked it in a desk drawer, thereby fulfilling his pledge to Tim Russert that he'd sign it.
I wonder what would happpen if someone forged Kerry's signature on the form and mailed it in? Since Kerry's said he signed it, would anyone bother checking before they sent out his records?
"If only....If only............" If only John McCain had run as kerry's VP!!! We could have put both Vietnam "moral" fatalities behind us.
"What did Brit say and why did it come up? Thanks"
Basically he equated Kerry's latest equivocation with "the check is in the mail". He provided a short timeline history of the form-180 follies that revealed what a weasel Kerry really is.
Does not "very shortly you will see it" smack of Clinton's "sooner rather than later, more rather than less?" Birds of a feather.
"Birds of a feather"
He could only wish. I'm no fan of Clinton, but he could gab better than the best. By comparison, Kerry's evasions are pathetic.
and . . . subjected to a list of puppet master team's 'reconstructive evidence' team's efforts AND
the digestive tracts of a pack of pit bulls who
'just happened' to
eat his homework form 180.
"Does this dork have the ability to alter his military records?"
There's speculation that Kerry got an OTH and had Carter upgrade it to Honorable. The Swifties have the scoop but help off releasing it b/c it was too close to election day and the general public is too ignorant of the Military to understand the ramifications. Too much potential for a backfire.
But we'll see. If Kerry thinks he can run for office the way he did last time, he's in for a world of dissapointment. Unlike his Cambodia Hoax, it truly will be "seared" into his memory.
Thanks for sharing. If true, I cannot wait for the OTH discharge news to come out and for Jimmah Cahtah to be drawn into the fray. We need a finger licking good demwit scandal and it couldn't happen to a more deserving RAT.
The logical followup question when Kerry says, "My staff is working on it," would be, how can someone who can't fill out a simple one page form without help from his staff do the job of a United States Senator.
The truth is probably that the staff is processing it through the shredder and the incinerator. The ashes will be delivered at a press conference later this week.
Clinton was certainly the Demosthenes of his time. Re your tag line: I'll take Option B, Alex, for $2,000.
Yup. Bear in mind this is just my recollection of scuttlebut around here in early Nov. Haven't seen anything yet.
Good point. A nominee for President shouldn't need 6 months to file a paper. No wonder the French love him so much :)
//pings Jay Leno's writers
And here I thought I was seeing the birth of a new word.
"No sir! Please Noooooooooooooo sir!"
Hope sKerry's playmate had all the kids he wanted to have ... ;-)
I've sent him only 5. Thought about sending one for Memorial Day too.
That's sweet :) don't forget to add a SASE since he DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO FILE THE DARN THING! Whoops, I'm shouting
