"There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures. "
I think we missed the tide.

Schmuck Chumer is really the one to blame for this whole mess. When the Senate flipped to Democrat control for a while, he started the practice of publicly injecting ideology into the consideration of a candidate judge. In the past the official consideration was limited to qualification and temperament.
Chuckie overreached and dragged the Senate into this quagmire. Sad that he's the better of my state's senators. Time to move.

Some of them missed the boat. Others jumped ship entirely ...

I agree with the wink and a nod vote. In the end, Hillary will be able to claim that any change of Roe vs Wade is because of Bush's nominees. In the meantime, she can pander to the black, woman, and Hispanic folks as recognizing their accomplishments by voting FOR these folks.

Actually, it would have been more accurate to say that Frist DID have a plan for handling the predictable RINOs all along. He certainly knew about their existence - and for you to believe he ignored that is naive.

Your side, the minority, is outside of the mainstream by definition, John. Democrats remain in denial even though they see the Constitutional Option looming ahead. Sweet!

Bush will never appoint somebody who will threaten the status of Roe
To: LisaFab
Of course Corzine's troubled. He wants fair, impartial judges that
always find against corporations! Just like a couple of C-Span callers!
(Personally, I'm so naive that I always thought sometimes the plaintiff's right and sometimes the def't's right; sometimes the corp.'s right, sometimes the individual suing is right. Clearly I've missed the point of fair, impartial judges)

You're correct in your assessment of Corzine being a lock in NJ. That's why he'll vote against a black judge. satrap sharpe james has enough fraud in his pocket to put fred flintstone into drumthwacket.

Graham has made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR to anybody who has been willing to actually listen to him that he WILL VOTE WITH FRIST to end the filibuster of judges if the Demodogs pull any shenanigans and abuse their agreement in any way.
