I agree with John Podhoretz that politics in the real world calls for some compromise at least when a matter of principle is not involved. But hes dreaming if he really thinks the filibuster compromise struck last night in the Senate is a victory.

You are presuming they've thrown away two. I'm presuming the same (1 or 2). We don't know. And you're also assuming those same 1 or 2 judges would have survived a nuclear battle - not exactly a safe bet.
And the language of "extraordinary" or "exceptional" circumstances is ridiculous. And "exceptional circumstance" of a Dem is a conservative nominee breathing.
No! Really?!? Gosh, you'd think someone might have mentioned that before now, but here I was thinking that language didn't mean anything. < / sarcasm >

The deal says they'll lose two...Saad and Myers. Or that's how I've seen several reports on it.
And Lindsey Graham says he think it will be one. Time will tell.

When we get some conservative judges on the bench I may cheer up, and when we get more conservatives on SCOTUS, I will then declare this some type of victory.
I have never seen a conservative since David Brock change colors so fast!
Coop, the Good Lord gave me the wisdom to recognize what I can't change. Our kind of hard headedness falls into that category.
