If cloture is invoked, debate ends, and the nomination moves to a vote...................I think. ;)

Why vote on cloture instead of just voting on the nominee?
To: Miss Marple
The Dems will all vote for cloture.

This one's over folks. Cloture will succeed big time! Won't really see a test until the SCOTUS nominees, though.

Expect to see cloture succeed on Owens / Brown / Pryor Otherwise the DEMs of the 14 have reneged. And if a cloture vote fails on Myers or Bolton, the game is back on.
I agree that each nominee risks being rejected by failing to get a simple majority of the vote. That's the way it is supposed to work.

Agree. The only way to sustain a Conservative America is through the election of Conservative legislators and judges. As long a "Pretend" Republicans populate the special "CLUB" known as the Senate, Conservative values and ideology are doomed.
I will no longer contribute to any Republican cause or work for the party. I stood against Specter and they defied me. I am now standing against Santorum. NO MONEY! Perhaps that is the only language these morons understand! Let's seal our borders, stop killing babies in the womb, and let's get homosexual propaganda out of our schools! Disgusted in PA!

I don't know anything about Meyers. I don't know why they don't want him to pass besides ideology. I think he was nominated to go to the 9th Circus in SF.

I'm confused. How did he square that with the "thrown overboard" line? DID he square it?

"Rush has looked at this 1,000 ways and doesn't see an upside" He said as the filibuster ends on Priscilla Owen and she is soon to be confirmed.
