On your voting list, 18 moonbats voted "no". WA, MA, MI and NJ had both Senators vote no. Senators Lincoln and Dorgan voted no and they are in Red States.
He also pointed out how this will make or break those 7 RINO's who will then have to vote either nay or aye each time a name is brought to the floor. Thus, these self-appointed "statesmen" will be forced to choose sides and thereby expose themselves to their constituents. Let push come to shove now!

We begin this deal by getting our three appellate judges confirmed.
Meanwhile, we have hope and opportunity of getting social security reform passed and the tax cuts made permanent. Had the constitutional option been exercised this week, the likelihood of the Bush legislative agenda getting through the Senate would have greatly diminished. So, in essence, both Frist and the White House are buying time.
Get the major legislation enacted this summer, and then return to the remaining 7 judges and we'll see the bad faith from the RATS.
I still think this "deal" is better for the GOP than the RATS, because the American people will not stand for a well-qualified Supreme Court nominee to be filibustered.
Now, as a leader among the Republicans....he can take that criticism any way that he wants!

I can't wait until the president submits another judge (without conferring) who is a solid conservative and whose credentials the Dems can't deny.
How much power does Frist have? Can he call up all the nominees for an up or down vote? Do they have to be done one at a time?
I heard him, as did the audience, and was relieved he received very very little applause after making that statement. Their idea of a controversial nominee is anyone who is conservative suggesting that a conservative President should nominate those who do not share his views.

A victory for Republicans? Too many promises? Can Rehnquist now retire? Guess who thinks he can move on up...
"There is no way this agreement that breaks Democratic obstruction can be spun any way other than as a victory for Republicans and the Bush Administration," said a Republican Senate leadership aide late Monday night, regarding the agreement reached by 14 senators to avert a showdown vote on the so-called nuclear option that would have ended Democratic filibustering of Bush judicial nominees.
"The parameters of the deal insure that six of eight obstructed Bush nominees to the federal judiciary will receive an up or down confirmation vote in the Senate. The three most opposed Bush nominees to the court, Priscilla Owen, Janice Rogers Brown and William Pryor, will not have their nominations blocked any longer; also, three other Bush nominees will eventually receive an up or down confirmation vote as well; the only two nominees who still may be filibustered are Michigan judge Henry Saad and William Myers.
Also as part of the compromise, the Democrat moderates promise to prevent any future filibuster of Bush appeals court and Supreme Court nominees. While Democrats were able to have their "extraordinary circumstances" clause inserted in the deal, no one anticipates that such a situation will arise, assuming Democrats keep their promise. Senate Democrats decide to pretend to deal on judges. Plus: Frist dissed -- by his own.
Democratic Senators Ben Nelson (Neb.) and Mark Pryor (Ark.) have discussed with their leader, Sen. Harry Reid, just how he would define "extraordinary circumstances" in the context of a deal with moderate Republicans to end the Democrats' filibuster-lite. (Yes, lite: not a single Democrat has extended his stay on the floor of the Senate beyond normal legislative working hours since the election last November -- at least those Princeton students carried on 'round the clock.)
The meaning of "extraordinary circumstances," or at least how Democrats would interpret those two words, may ultimately decide whether a deal gets done to sidestep the demolition of Democratic obstruction on the President's judicial nominees. Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski and Chuck Hagel have been hesitant to sign on to any deal that would bar Republicans from using the so-called "nuclear option" to break Democrats' obstruction at any time in the next year, in return for an ill-defined promise by Democrats to use the obstructionist tactics only in "extraordinary circumstances."...read more

All I can say is that your Senator Frist is a much better Senator than the sorry Sonovich and DeWanker that represent my state! If you don't want Frist anymore than we'll trade you our two wobblies for him.
