Buy a clue ... This is a devastating number for the rats base to swallow. This high a number for cloture will be seen as an abandonment of the far left of the rat party. The DU'ers type rat have lost big time.
The rats will not only find it very difficult to get the votes to support another filibuster, the rats have had a wedge shoved between the far left and their moderates.
This vote will hit the rats harder than the nuclear option. The nuke would have energized the rat base. This outcome will cause the rats to eat their own.
To: churchillbuff
Whoa, pal. Hold the phone. Nowhere did I ever make excuses for the RINOS. I think they are as low as the Rats. What I posted was about your statement that the Republicans had promised no nuke option, when in fact, only the RINOS did.

I'm thinking Rush wanted to generate just a few more phone calls to the RINO's offices....these 7 RINOS have been setup like clay pigeons, in my opinion.

I worked for Bush in Ohio, I can work against DeWine in Ohio! Indiana was almost 70% for Bush, so they did not need me!

We can only expect up-or-down votes. There's never been an expectation that all would be confirmed, though you'd hope so since we're in the majority. Prior to the compromise, the expectation was that, if the Senate was allowed to vote on the nominations directly, all of them would be confirmed. That's why they were filibustered. My gut-rot reaction is that at least one of the "big 3" will now be defeated on the floor (more likely, 2 of them) because of the energy spent on blocking them by the RATs and the need for them to define "extraordinary" to include that particular group.

I don't feel comfortable leaving either of those two to define when the MOU is "broken."

and my blood pressure (which I take meds for) has really come down in spite of this mess.My blood pressure medication is pushing the envelope to keep me from stroking out. I need to start listening to music I guess. If not, my hubby may come home some evening and find my face planted in my keyboard.

I'll leave it alone then...speculation is a dangerous thing!

Tried to call the RNC, their lines are tied up and going into phone mail. To Hell with that, if I'm paying for the call, I'm talking to someone.
Where do we send the 30 pieces of silver?
Graham was a McCain supporter in 2000. How about the other 5? This was done to undercut the President. They aren't worthy to carry his shoes.

When my niece was just a small girl she used to call the Disney characters, Snow White and the 7 Dorks. I think the 7 Dorks fits.

I hear what you're saying, but ANY SCOTUS nominee that isn't in the Souter mold, no matter who he or she would replace, will activate the "extraordinary circumstances" concept.
