I got exactly the same letter from Warner regarding assault weapons. In fact, I have a remarkably similar letter regarding Terri Schiavo, another about taxes, and another about spending. They basically say, "Thanks for your opinion. Now f*** off."

We need to send her to D.C. and straighten these wusses out. Think of the time they could have saved? :)

We're moving too--AGAIN. And once again, Mr. SoVa finds himself travelling during the packing phase...I'm sure it's not on purpose!

Also sure it's going to be really easy to throw stuff away if he's not here.

What happened yesterday was certainly not presidential.

Good to see you. I have my pitchfork still in hand, I just haven't marched on the town square....yet. This deal smells to me but it is a good victory as well.

"Even if the Dems fail to live up to their part of the agreement?

Since they have already said that Owens, Pryor & Brown are too extreme, too conservative ....in the future who can they oppose under 'extraordinary circumstances'?"

They are democrats, they can oppose any and all and with 100% MSM propaganda support and gutless RINOs they can pull off whatever and whenever they wish.

Look, we might disagree but my gut tells me the Republicans have actually seen their true opponents across the aisle for what they are for the very first time. This is the opening for real leadership on our side to emerge. It ain't pretty and it ain't popular, but the dynamic is there. I am optimistic, we shall see.

LOL...ok, here's how rough moving is.
I thought you were responding to Mr. SoVa being away during house-packing time. You were referring to Mr. Warner needing a dirt-nap.

Mr. SoVa will be hapy to note that you aren't advocating his being beaten with a stick for leaving me to do the work.

Mr. Warner, Sheets, et al, need to be beaten with many sticks. Does it violate the FR rules if I say they are a bunch of pond scum? Evil bastards? And what does it say that they keep getting re-elected?

Some familiar names on that old list, huh?

I can tell you I never voted for them, but I never really had the option.

As I said six years ago, people need to stop voting for Republicans who repeatedly screw them. At what point do people realize that these "Republicans" do not share their opinions on almost anything? Work to eliminate them in the primaries, and if that fails, vote third party.

Any of the signers of this can determine that the filibuster is not warranted.

I'm sorry, but I think that you and I have a different understanding of what "honesty" means to the left. Do you believe that the Democrats will allow pro-life, pro-family, strict constructionist judges to the USSC to be confirmed?

I do not. I know them too well. This agreement will last as long as it takes for Bush to nominate someone else who doesn't pass the ideological litmus test.

In a word YES.

Otherwise they know the option will be off the table, in rare case they find real dirt on another Judge. They will permanently lose the Filibuster.

It is nice to at least be able to threaten a Filibuster even if you can't deliver on your promise, the Press will eat it up. In this way they have a very small Victory.

The Democrat Party is doing this because of abortion. They absolutely will not accept a pro-life, pro-family justice on the USSC under any circumstance. That is what this battle was really about. They swallowed three judges they hate in order to protect their ability to filibuster Rehnquist's replacement to death.

They could have been made to swallow all of the judges. We could have forced them to filibuster. But Senate moderate Republicans have no vision, because they don't care whether pro-life judges get on the court or not.

That's Politics. Your glass is never full.

But I will take it 90% full any day. Let then have their 90% empty glass. All they have is a false victory.

Withhold over this and we may never get to 60 seats and true power. That is what we really need the ability to override the filibuster on legislation. That rule will not be changed.
