Oh, and FWIW, you've been here long enough to know that you are supposed to ping someone, when you're talking about them.

Balderdash that you have to ping someone when you have something to say about what they said. Who made that rule up, you? Who are you to say what needs pinging and what doesn't. This is a PUBLIC forum, where anything anyone says is fair game, unless being very impolite. That's what the admin mods are for, to control over-the-top comments. But you aren't the arbitor of what can or can't be said. The mods are. If you don't want someone commenting on what you say, don't post on a thread.

Reading along here....

Ummmm, they were talking ABOUT her and being disparaging. Get a clue.

And YES, it is just good manners to ping the person you are gossiping about.

First of all, you don't just threaten, you start taking stuff away. This isn't exactly the first time McQueeg has gone behind and around Frist.

This isn't about three years from now....IT'S ABOUT RIGHT NOW!

They haven't been threatened, nor even cajoled. The proof of that, is that they knew that they could get away with this stunt.

Snowe and Chaffe are lost causes. The others should NOT have been; handled properly. That would have lessened the numbers to 3 RINOS. McLunatic and two others could NOT have pulled this off.

No....you see a doctor and while you're at it, take some basic history and political courses.

NEVER VOTE FOR THESE REPUBLICANS (THE LIST)

55 R senators. 5 R defections for both articles of impeachment. FreeRepublic was smaller then. Less people posted to that thread. Look at the names of the RINO senators.

A pretty good victory for the damned DEMS and the war may not be over, but this is Verdun and worse, for our side.

Baloney. NoPardons dishes it out constantly. If she can't take the heat she should get out of the fire, as should you. Good manners? You aren't the arbitor of good manners and what they should be. Take a hike.

You didn't start of saying that your tripe was "speculation". That is a bold faced LIE!

You repeated your ridiculous and baseless scenario over and over and over again, a la Goebbels.

McCaine was NEVER working on the president's behalf and neither were the rest of his gang.

No president is ever complicit in working against himself and that's precisely what this "compromise" does.

There was NO reason at all and there still isn't one, for me to explain in detail, why your post is that of an uneducated, politically illiterate, mind blowingly juvenile naif. Simple common sense and the slightest acquaintace with political history would inform any reader of your posts to that.

And as far as my being a DUer and "off my meds", that is just your pathetic, childish way of refutation, because you are totally bereft of enough knowledge to prove med wrong.

A plausible conjecture has to be based on substantive facts; not your comic book delusions.

I just saw a replay of McCain saying he thinks he has the chops to become President, he's acting like this whole thing makes him some kind of hero. No matter what happens McCain cannot get the nomination in 2008.

But you knew that.

Going to now run off to an anti-FR site and tell them how you raked me over the coals? LOL

Okay, Chaffee Collins and Snowe are lost causes. DeWine, Warner and Graham are now traitors as of several hours ago. Kind of hard to take things away from DeWine, Graham and Warner in such a short period of time. As far a threats against those three, you have no idea what threats have been made by all sides against those three over the last few weeks.

Add those six up and subtract from 55 and you get 49. That's without McCain. Take some basic math.

No....you see a doctor...

I didn't *sigh*. You did. Have it checked.

Well, another deal conducted late and in the dark of night. And, I got a call this afternoon from the Republicans asking me for money. I think they know/knew they're not getting any more financial help from me and those others like me who feel betrayed by the good old boys. Just trying to get a buck at the last minute before the old bank door slams shut. I was very suspicious of the timing and had to actually hang up on the young man who called, he was not rude but I told him no and he didn't want to take that for an answer.

On the other hand, listening to Air America to find out how the loyal opposition is taking things...they're even more upset than we are. That being said, let us pause to consider the nature of politics and what we're actually worried about here. We have boys and girls out in the field right now, tonight, fighting and maybe dying. That's what's most important. If this deal gets the senators off dead-center so we can get the war issues dealt with hastily then I support it in that respect.

After I cool down a bit I might even get some sleep.

If President Bush has arm twisted, we wouldn't know it. He's too classy to ever embarrass a GOP senator. Hell, he's too classy to publicly slap the likes of Kennedy and others who have trashed him.

You cannot change your stance and violate the agreement without taking a serious hit in credibility.

Unless you are a Democrat or rhino who has no credibility to start with.

The Democrats already broke this same agreement that's how we got here to start with.

They care nothing about credibility, honesty, rules or traditions. It looks like the Republicans would have learned after ten years but they're hopeless.

If the Republicans where a ball team, they are so bad they'd lose a forfeiture.

The traditional gentleman's agreement for over two hundred years ,was that any nominee who made it through the Judiciary committee [voted out] by majority vote ]would be moved to the floor for debate by the other 100 senators and voted on up or down by them.

The Democrats broke this agreement.

They lost the power to tie them up in committee because of the big win by Republicans so they couldn't keep them off the floor.

So they used the filibuster [ unlike the Republicans when the Dem's had the majority] which requires a super majority of sixty to break, to keep them from the floor vote which only requires a simple majority of 51 to confirm.

Before this had only be applied to bills or legislation not people. The reason it was not applied to people is because people [unlike bills] cannot be amended or re crafted to suit both sides. They are either qualified or not.

Before this only those who did not make it out of committee where denied floor access.

This is normal because everything has to make it out of committee before going to the floor.

When the democrats lost numbers and power in the Senate they started making up for their lost votes by using the filibuster to make the Republicans come up with sixty votes instead of 51 thereby nullifying the Republican's electoral gains.
