DR. DEAN: I said I wasn't sure, but I said I thought there probably were. But the thing that really bothered me the most, which the 9-11 Commission said also wasn't true, is the insinuation that the president continues to make to this day that Osama bin Laden had something to do with supporting terrorists that attacked the United States. That is false. The 9-11 Commission, chaired by a Republican, said it was false.

That's what he said today on Meet the Press. Could have been a mistake, but knowing Dean he probably does think Osama bin Laden is innocent of 9/11.

Dean is right, it was all Bush's fault. /sarc

So then Dean must think that Bush is doing the right thing by setting out to clean up the entire Middle East.

Maybe he's just doing a Dem thing--A 360 turn? Or got it confused with "men on Mars"......What members that party has!....LOL

I'm so glad the Dems allowed a raving lunatic to be their National Chairman. It's a joy to wonder just what he'll say next.

so who did fly the planes on 9/11?
It couldnt have been people in the GOP, could it? /sarcasm
Dean is an idiot, but I see no need to correct him. People will eventually see him for the lunatic that he is....

The more Dean talks, the more the chance of another republican win in 2006/2008. Go Dean! The more irrational you become, the easier our job!

He meant Saddam Hussein.
Either way, it's a bald faced lie and he knows it.

He had to have meant Saddam. Even Dean isn't this stupid.

I have been hearing rumblings that the 'Rats are about to throw Dean under the bus. We should all pray this isn't true. Howard Dean is a great spokesman for the Republican party.

That wasn't a mistake. Dean and most of the Democratic party believes that.
They think it was either the U.S. government or Israel who slammed those jet airliners into the Twin Towers.

I heard that..wasnt sure if I heard correctly.Wasnt it Tom DeLay that killed 3000 people though?

It's absolutely obvious that he meant Saddam. Not that he wouldn't be demonstrating just as much stupidity and political irrelevance if he'd said what he meant, but there's no way that Howard Dean meant Osama in this context.

Bush makes that mistake and it would be endless front page news, fodder for Leno, Letterman and John Stuart. Dean makes it and will disapear down the memory hole.

It would be nice to have someone other then big government republicans to vote for, but with idiots like Dean running the rat party there is no way in hell anyone could even consider voting D. Third parties are looking better and better all the time.

Actually I heard him say something to that effect twice in a very short space of time. Even more telling is that Tim Russert either didn't catch it or agreed, since Tim didn't bother correcting him or asking if he meant Saddam.
