I hope Dean provides the entertainment that I am expecting. BTW, does anyone here watch Capitol Gang? I tuned in for about 5 minutes last night and it is AWFUL! It is the political equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show.

Making some popcorn for the MTP appearance. I am torn between wanting to see Dean do a Deaniac-scale meltdown in front of Russert, and hoping that he stays sane enough that the Dims keep him as their chairman.

Hi, AB. Thank you for the thread. Does anyone else think watching Dean on MTP this morning may be the equivalent of watching a car wreck in slow motion?

AB, there must be something wrong with your list. Biden, for once, is not on it. /s

MTP - must see TV and I shall watch McCain on Fox too, and I'll go nuclear if he announces a deal has been struck!

Chris Matthews Sunday Show:

Tom Friedman says the middle east reaction to USA is mixed, but Matthews prods him to criticize Bush for calling the middle east "barbaric and backward". Matthews really wanted the panelists to attack Bush's statement from last week, but they didn't seem to co-operate. (I missed what Andrea Mitchell might have said.)

Joe Klein says there are some people who look more kindly to us because of the Bush policy. Matthews doesn't like that, he keeps pushing. Matthews keeps at it. what about the"Bush failure", he asks. Friedman tells Matthews, "I don't care if they like us or not."

Matthews very happy that his entire panel says, "yes, Hillary is running in 2008". He asks whether Bill Clinton will be an asset or detriment to her. They all agree that his brilliance, his knowledge, his world popularity would be put to good use in a Hillary administration.

(dog walk....I missed most of the show)

The section: "Tell me something I don't know"

The Brit babe says: North Korea will test nuke soon, up in the mountain area, and it's so cold there they have to test in the summer.

Klein says: A most interesting middle east election, comes next month in Iran. one of the candidates is (almost) pro-American, sorry I missed his name.

Another: Europeans are really concerned about Iran nukes, will get tough with Iran at an upcoming meeting with them.

Matthews tells the panel:

Frist will be the hero of the filibuster fight.. He will deliver for the president, .he will win, he will be the republican's candidate in 2008.

Either they have choreographed this appearance to make him seem more normal (and what an effort that will be) OR Russert is going to go after him so that the DNC people will have an excuse to replace him.

I think it will be the latter, but then I live in the land of wishful thinking! LOL!

Have a safe trip, gbc. Don't let us see you on television because the pilot went off course.

Maybe not. In the 5 minutes of Capitol Gang that I was able to endure last night Dean was discussed and the support for him could not have been more tepid. Damning with faint praise comes to mind. Ted Kennedy kept point out how he "travels alot." Heaven forfend that they put someone effective in his place, but I suspect Bill and Hillary! will make that call.
