Just saw Ben Nelson on Fox---he was talking about a compromise that would involve giving Bush the votes on these nominees, but the dems would retain the right to filibuster in "extroidinary" circumstances (read SCOTUS)--
but, when asked if that meant ALL of Bush's nominees that are up, he hesitated and said "we will see"---
They are just playing games, here

Last I heard it was 100 hours to accommodate all senators wanting to make statements if they so choose. Has that changed to 30 hours?
To: ken5050
"Frist palns to allow 100 hours of debate."
After the first 100 hours of the debate will come the 2nd 100 hours of debate, then the 3rd 100 hours....
Frist, nor any of the other RINOs have the guts to stand up to the democrats. They are simply members of the same club.

We'll see... but watching Norm Coleman get a dressing-down from the likes of British scum like Galloway gives me trepidation.
Our Senator's better show up with testosterone today... or else they'll be putting on a skirt for Her Heinous Hilliary! in 2008.

They thought they could get the Whitehouse back. They made a big mistake. If they had run Hillary, they might have just done it.
Hillary made the mistake! and I don't think she can take it in 2008.....and she is slowly losing her base (no matter what Dem registration says). NY could care less if she hadn't stayed through her term. Bad Plan?? Or no man would agree to VP????

No, I did not know that. I will have to ask my dim friend if her check is bigger. She was throwing a fit about the taxes on SS one day, and I told her to thank her beloved dim pres for it. ..... she shut up real quick.

Judging by the latest rounds in the Senate, this could be incredibily B O R I N G.
It will be that mostly until and at the point Sen. Frist decides to try and close debate and bring the senate to a vote. I don't know how long he thinks is reasonable for debate on the nomination but whenever that point is reached that is when the fireworks will begin. And that won't happen until you see VP Cheney presiding.
At least he's now taken the Senate into Executive Session and maybe he'll get a few of the nominations on the floor. Owen, Saad, Brown, Bolton is still a question mark because of the Boxer Hold and I think there are others on his calendar.

re: keeping a ping list, I use Notepad to keep mine and I just cut and paste.
Thanks for starting this, I don't expect much to happen before Friday or even maybe into next week.
I still think the Dems will cave and not stop any of these votes, they will hope to filibuster the SCOTUS nominees when the stakes are higher. They know they will lose now so it would be stupid to not try and delay, hoping something will happen to peel off a few RINOS down the road.
The Lefty base will be nuts if they roll over, but I see no other option that might save SCOTUS for them.

Please don't discount Coleman's unperturbed calmness in questioning Galloway. Norm has the documented evidence that the blustering Galloway is a liar.
