To sum up Spectre's argument-
The filibuster is a consequence of politics, and retaliation that built over decades. It is dangerous to our Republic.
He still wants a compromise, preferably one that codifies the definition of extreme etc...
He wants an up and down vote on all nominees.
Why is everyone getting worked up about Spectre? Settle down. Spectre is being Spectre but I've seen nothing yet to state he isn't voting with us.

EXCELLENT point. Good job digging that up!

Specter is pointing out the cynicism of saying we dems will take some of these extreme, unacceptable nominees but not others.

All he's doing is proving that it's the Democrats who won't compromise.

I don't agree. Party loyalty is why you have parties to begin with. If Spector wants to go Independent, let him run for office that way. If he got Republican votes, he should support his party, or get the @#$% out.

Spectre votes with us than Santorum's argument that Spectre was needed to win this fight will have proven to be true. Santorum should be strongly supported for re-election in that instance.
To: Soul Seeker
It depends from which side you're listening to Spectre. He's dancing down the middle of the road so far IMHO.

Specter is adopting the newest democrat strategy.
They have offered to vote on "less controversial" (read less conservative)
nominees OTHER THAN Owen and Brown.

Blah...blah...blah Specter. You are supposed to be a Republican you POS! If our members did as the demoncrats do, this horse shit would of been over right after the election. I smell some "Daschles" coming in the next election.
To: MamaLucci
Is Specter calling for less extreme nominees to be voted on first..........Leslie Marshall, a demoncrat talking head that was just on FOX, said our choice of judges was radical and extreme, but she slipped and publicly refereed to them as (eeeevil) "Christians."
In other words, righteousness and a moral foundation should not be allowed on the bench. Only whores, homos, racist, thieves, baby murderers,.....the list goes on and on....are allowed to "make laws."
To: Soul Seeker
If you think Spector will vote with us, then you should be reading up on Scottish law.

He sure wanted to play with "the party" when he needed help back in October. And again in January when he wanted this committee.
