Welcome, all you Freepers, to the continuing C-span soap operas about judicial nominations. "The Guiding SEARCHLIGHT, " "As the SENATE Turns, "One NOMINATION to Live" "GERIATRIC Hospital" (for all you Byrd and Lautenberg fans out there). Follow along with us, as the Dems raise the level of histrionics, bloviation, pontification, and all around bad acting to new highs, er, lows...
Di's putting me to sleep.
hey-wait- she's talking about brown. Oh how I wish brown was on the floor of the senate. She's rip Di apart. LOL
Your creativity has me bowled over.
I've never heard of that either (pouring into saucer).
You can drink espresso? Lord, you must have a cast-iron stomach! I'm a 'coffee-in-the-milk type myself.
Oh no, she's bringing SS into this..
Thank you, kind sir. Any creative juices I have are inspired by the upside-down world we're now living in.
I hate Nazis! ;-)
Oh, I am "out there" all right. Waaaay out there.
I think Rule XXVI is the applicable rule. It says most committes CAN'T meet while the Senate is in session, etc. Two committes are not subject to the rule.
Normally, the rule is waived on the unanimous consent of all Senators. If one Senator withholds consent, the rule is enforced. A link and part of the rule are in one of my earlier replies to this question, on this thread.
I'm off work Thurs & Fri but I have a LONG to-do list. Frist needs to finish this NOW, because I won't have enough discipline to get my chores done tomorrow.
"I can't help but believe the Dems have been given an ultimatum by some of their special interest donors.
Stop these nominees or else...."
I bet this goes to the Supreme Court. If the RATS lose they will sue to have the rules changed overturned.
Just watch.
Everytime they quote brown I love her all the more. Seems she revealed S.S. as an imposed burden by the elderly on the younger to support their addiction to government handouts.
I think that is what I heard!
I take it like medicine- and always have an Altoids handy ;^)
It's not going to end today. Vote's next week at earliest.
I'm not sure if your being sarcastic. The Electoral College was set up for a very good reason and it worked just as it should have. If Gore had won his own state (7 votes), he wouldn't have needed Florida's 20 some votes.
If I had to guess, that would be anyone associated with the abortion industry. And we know they make a fiscally powerful lobby.
pssst, we have 11 electoral votes in Tenn
DiFi: "The triumph of defeat."
WTF?
ROFL
Excluding the gay community, how many DUmmies would understand any cup/saucer analogy?
LOL!
