And the Kids of The Company are about to head out into The Sandbox, here at NTC. The weather's not near as hot as it could be, but still being only 20 miles south of Death Valley, it ain't a resort...
Sarge and The Kids are doing fairly well, considering the pressure we're being put under. Lots of last-minute, eleventh-hour, five-minutes-to-midnight BS that happens, and y'all know what I'm talking about!
Nasty evil mean-spirited rumors abound out here, that we might have Web access while we're out there. It's a far cry from the analog Army Sarge grew up in, with stuby pencils, paper maps, stone knives and bearskins.
Sarge might be back in the area, but if not, then Yall Have Fun!

Good morning, Old Sarge. How's it going?
Wow.
"They just don't build E-1's like they used to. Why, back in the day an E-1 could run sevral miles carrying a full load, dig an entire trench by himself and still be ready.." -Famous words by my former section chief to the 'new guy' in the section.
Web access.. And no more stone knives?!
Better be ready to give the newer troops the "2 miles uphill both ways with barbwire wrapped on your feet for traction" talk.
Can't imagine going without the stone knives.
That's a ripoff, the stone knives were part of the action!
Built character!
