What do you bet he has his license taken for a few months and then he's back in action because "it was a mistake."
Yeah, but he has a point. The only thing this hang glider could be used for is chemical or biological weapons, in which case everyone would have been safer inside.
~sigh~
Yes. And in my family's claim to fame, he was a distant cousin of my mother-in-law.
Amen. I live within 30 miles of the WH, and like to fly. It's difficult enough with the rules already in place.

You shoulda stayed in Virginia. It's God's country.
...In my building, everyone - male or female - is encouraged to keep a pair of comfortable, sturdy walking shoes in their cubicle, mainly in case of earthquake, which might put down heavy debris and require people to walk home....
Good thinking. Being prepared for emergency mostly requires some common sense. Now that I think about it, people would probably conduct themselves well at the state level in a national emergency. At the federal level probably not.
I think our Anthrax attack worked the same way. We threw BILLIONS of dollars into that attack to come up with a strategy. So now we have the mails examined...big deal...They won't use the mails again AND it won't be anthrax.
There is a 30NM radis clearly marked on charts identified as an ADIZ. http://www.aopa.org/adiz/host.html has information on it. A 50 mile NO FLY ZONE would shut down ALL CIIL AVIAITION Iin most of Northern Virginia and much of Maryland.
Clinton stood down the alert posture we had in effect from the cold war. It's a much, much different world today. Never a threat, never. 2 Andrew guys had him the whole way. Guy was not complying. Almost bought it. Lucky.
No kidding, Mo. I couldn't believe my ears.
I had no idea! :~0
What if the plane had a few hundred pounds of high explosives on board? Would that penetrate the Capitol dome?
You left out Monday morning quarterbacking...
SHEESH....
I guess someone has to decide which is worse. Banning novice pilots in light aircraft from takeoff from these fields or scrambling fighter jets and having the scenario we had today
that's it
I understand that point .. but we are JUST learning all the info
There is no better way. When you have to run, you run. I'm aware of that because I can't run due to a very bad knee that needs reconstructive surgery. This is a reminder to me to stay away from high-security zones until after the surgery. I'm sympathetic with the fat woman, but does she want to stay behind and risk getting blown up? And worse, jeopardize the kind soul who will most probably try to help her?
