After her husband died, Fanny Mbewe was forced to have "cleansing" sex with an in-law.

He said tradition dictates that he sleep with the widow, then with each of his own wives, and then again with the widow, all in one night. The bizarre traditions in Africa are tailor-made for the lightning-fast spread of AIDS and other STD's.

H.I.V. has spread to 25 million sub-Saharan Africans, killing 2.3 million last year alone. This statistic is tosh.
African "Aids" death statistics are not based on counting bodies. Only ~1% of deaths (from ANY cause) are officially reported in most of Africa. These AIDs statistics are instead based on the WHO epimodels, which themselves are based on a ludicrous conflation of ELISA test results from ante-natal clinics.
As the ELISA test has never been tested against the HIV virus (and there is a very good reason for that, ask me what it is) no-one knows what the specificity (false-positive) rate for the test is. But being black and being pregnant are known to give high false-positive rates on serological tests, especially ELISA.
Being black and being pregnant are the norm if you are at an African ante-natal clinic. So the junk ELISA test is fuelling hysterical predictions from the WHO, which morph into yet more damn-fool scare stories in the media (no disrespect meant to the poster).
This stuff is OLD. We have been getting these prurient African "green monkey sex/I slept with my own baby" stories for over a decade and the media keeps reporting them uncritically.
Africa is not awash with bathhouse-style sexual activity, nor is everyone having sex with green monkeys or their own mothers, etc. There are some frankly wierd practices (polyandrous behaviour as per this article for instance) but by and large African sexual activity and partner-numbers are just like ours.

I'm not suggesting that the practice isn't bizarre but in the case of AID from everything I've read transmission of the virus via conventional heterosexual intercourse is rare.
I suspect most of the transmission is from reusing syringes, unacknowledged homosexual encounters and at least some (if not a lot) of "book cooking".
I do believe the UN provides grants based on the number of AIDS cases. That would be a powerful incentive to be creative.

you know, when you read stuff like this you understand why Walter E. Williams says, when he guest hosts for Rush, that the best thing that could have happened to him and his family was when their forebearers were taken to America as Slaves, way back when.
(Spare me any finger pointing.....I am not trying to make a statement about a race, but about a continent out of control. )

I don't really believe AIDS stats coming out of some countries because the government makes it up to pad their bank accounts.

You are right, if the women has had a lot of "experience" there is little chance of transmission. If she is a virgin or he is brutal then it is as easy as homo sex to transmit. Also, it is far easier for women to get it than men through hetero sex, hence the 6/4 ratio. In this case if they just made the guy wear a condom the transmittal rate would drop considerably and they could still keep their stupid ritual of dominance.

That would sure solve the over all problem wouldn't it. A lot of people in my city are pretty ignorant of the racism that exists right under their noses, kind of like..ahem.
