I seem to remember a huge deal being made about how the Purpose Driven Life was used to end this homicidal maniac's spree.
I guess the life changing message didn't take.

Not surprising - candy isn't meant to be filling. :-)
Wonder if Rick Warren will include this in his "backslider" numbers...

He's just made the transition to The Jihad-Driven Life by Riq bin War'n.

Thanks for the ping! I remember the big deal about how this book was praised when that praise should have all been directed at God. God saved the hostage's life and he had and still has a purpose for Brian Nichols. I suppose Mr. Nichols sees Islam as a wonderful plan for his life.

Perhaps he missed the part of the book about what happens to those who don't seize upon God's purpose for their lives.
Oh...wait......

Perhaps he's "walking according to the flesh" these days. Maybe he's a schizo-Christian. Perhaps he never made it past the 29th day. There's all sorts of answers I'm sure we'll be told.
BTW-I see where some feel that after reading the PDL, it's main message is to "serve" God; as if God needs our service. What a distortion of the truth. We are to glorify God. A subtle but distinct difference lost on many today.
