Director STEVEN SPIELBERG wept at a premiere of pal GEORGE LUCAS' final STAR WARS movie EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH.
JURASSIC PARK film-maker, Spielberg was so moved by the eagerly-awaited conclusion of the sci-fi saga, he burst into tears at its screening last week.
But he's unashamed by his tears, insisting fans will also cry at the end of the film, because its moving conclusion marks the end of Lucas' epic story.
Spielberg says, "I saw it about a week ago, and it's absolutely amazing.
"It's the best of the last three episodes. It's the best way you could possibly imagine for George to finish it off, it has a tremendous ending and it's very dark. You'll cry at the end, it's wonderful."
I heard it was bad, but cry?
They are all crying, on the way to the bank.
Is Steven weeping because Lucas is focing him to direct Indy 4?
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!...what a phony POS. You gotta be kidding me! Is his picture next to "Dork" in the dictionary?
FMCDH(BITS)
Steve's afraid he's gonna lose at the box office when his "War of the World" comes out next month and "Star Wars" is still playing.
That's funny. I was crying hysterically during the first one. I couldn't wait until they got that kid off the screen.
I cried because the last couple movies sucked so bad. I remember reading about the prequels in Starlog magazine when I was in a kid and I spent years looking forward to them--only to get ripped off by the crap that was the Phantom Menace and Clone Wars. Lucas should have let Spielberg direct and hired decent actors instead of that awful kid and pathetic Haiden Christianson. It's enough to make anyone weep.
War of the Worlds is going to tank, as is this Star Wars. People are sending a message to Hollywierd with their wallets.
People in Hollywood have a deeper sense of reality than the rest of us. If you doubt that, just ask President Martin Sheen.
Clone Wars was a little better but still not great. Maybe rate it a 6.
The magic just isn't there with the prequels. The storytelling is off, and they picked the wrong kids to play Anakin. I think it's pretty clear that Lucas captured lightning in a bottle the first time around.

--> I love it when the hollywood crowd tells me what to vote for, eat, and drive. Their commitment to me is sooo Deep! /Sarc
If you want to see people do righy by the Star Wars mythos, play the "Knights of the Old Republic" video games. It's funny how other people are far more competent with the material than Lucas himself.
That isn't saying much. The bar was not very high.
I remember reading about the whole Star Wars backstory in Starlog around 87 or 88 and dreaming about it with all my dork friends. I thought, these movies will make a gazillion dollars. They've done well, but they're not the economic juggernaut they could have been. Why? Because the movies just aren't that good.
I thought Lucas originally wrote nine episodes, and the first one released in '77 was supposed to be episode III. Boy, is my memory terrible, or what?
Every review I have heard ir read says this is one of the best Star Wars ever. Not one person has said its bad, I understand Hayden Christenson acting still sucks though.
Not a big accomplishment.
