A day in the life of President Bush (5/7/05): photos

PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: The President and First Lady arrived in the Netherlands, today, on the first leg of their four-day visit to eastern Europe, Russia and the Republic of Georgia. The main focus of the visit is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Nazi Germany's defeat.

According to the Associated Press, President Bush "second-guessed Franklin D. Roosevelt," when he said Saturday that the United States played a role in Europe's painful division after World War II. The President said it was a decision that helped cause "one of the greatest wrongs of history" when the Soviet Union imposed its harsh rule across Central and Eastern Europe.

President Bush said the lessons of the past will not be forgotten as the United States tries to spread freedom in the Middle East.

The President spent the day with the leaders of three Baltic republics, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Many in the Baltic countries are still bitter about the Soviet annexation of their countries and the harsh occupation that followed the war for nearly 50 years. Acknowledging that anger and frustration still linger, Bush said that "we have a great opportunity to move beyond the past." His message here, and throughout his trip, is that the world is entering a new phase of freedom and all countries should get on board.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "We will not repeat the mistakes of other generations, appeasing or excusing tyranny, and sacrificing freedom in the vain pursuit of stability," the president said. "We have learned our lesson; no one's liberty is expendable. In the long run, our security and true stability depend on the freedom of others." President George W. Bush in a speech in Riga, Latvia.

It's Velcro with adhesive on both strips of the Velcro. I use it a lot, it works great for hanging things on surfaces that you can't sink a screw or drive a nail to attach something to a wall or any other surface :-)

Surely at his age especially with all the extra travelling a President is expected to do nowadays he is too old and he himself admits to suffering from skin cancer, so all in all not a very sensible thing to run IMHO

"I have 4 in that room, How many does your Hubby have in his :-)"

He's got 6 or 7 at last count . . . of course, he constantly rotate his personal systems with those at his 'real' office, so some days he has more, some days he has less.

I'm just thankful that one of us is technically proficient!

planned to do so at 4 AM EST, but I'm not positive!

I saw that also for FOX. Want to see this especially
since it is in the Nederlands. When I was in Arnhem
there, saw the area of Operation Market Garden of WW II
Also went through the Ann Frank House in Amsterdam.

Saw the President's speech in Riga this morning.

We use it at work for attacking photos/posters etc at exhibitions which is great because we do not want to deface the stand as we have a permanent one that we assemble for each exhibition and change it slightly each time so photos do not always go in the same place.

I doubt McCain worries about his age . . . He'll just remind everyone that Reagan wasn't must younger when he (Reagan) first became president.

However, I just can't imagine voting for McCain given the number of times he's 'stabbed' the President in the back . . . and should he vote against the constitutional option this month -- well, that'll do it for me!

It's time for me to say good night . . . I'm still trying to recover from this allergy/sinus/cold thingy that I've managed to contract!

WOW, I will have to tell my wife about this :-) She always questions why I have 4 PC's in the "Dungeon" and a Laptop in the living room, all connected to a high speed internet connection while the computer I built for her is on an analog connection.

Your Husband is now "Case Law" for my defense:-)

BTW, the only reason why my wife's PC is on dial up is because between her and her sister, they download about 20 Viruses a month and I DO NOT want their refusal to ignore every link in their emails trashing my PC's in the "Dungeon"

I have an Internet server, three PC's, as well as a laptop on the network down here, and until she and her sister learn not to click on every link they get in email as if they were Christmas presents, My wife's PC will remain on Dial Up :-)

Good Night DrDeb, Thanks for posting all the great links you do. I really look forward to reading the articles that you post the links for. With so much negative stuff out there, it's great to read the positive stories written about our President and his intentions

Good night Deb I hope that most Republicans take your stance against McCain from what I have seen of him I do not think he would be a good President certainly not one to forward the Conservative cause.

IMHO I think in 2005 over 70 is too old for a President mainly because of the extra travel they are expected to do I have no problems with the age for administrating purposes but the physical strain the amount of travel both in campaigning aftertowards as President IMHO would be too much.

Time I went to bed as well God Bless you all hope to chat tomorrow.

Love
Eleanor

Gnite snugs, and thanks for all your contributions here on this thread.

Your enthusiasm for our President is contagious, and I wish more Americans were as devoted and respectful toward George W. Bush as you always are.

Sleep well my friend from across the pond

Mike

Here I am, just reading along, looking at cute W pictures and trying to figure out what the troll posted, when suddenly, I have spotted myself in one of your posts! LOL

Looks like I'd be kicked out of the "Dungeon" along with your wife and her sister! Hubby and son have put a super sonic fire wall and anti virus on my laptop. Hahaha!

I just can't resist opening something sent to me. All the time I hear....mom,....Mom......MOM, don't click on that! Ahhh, too funny!

Your new furniture looks great, but still pretty crowded. Hope you don't need to add anything else.
We recently got a new computer desk with a hutch. It really cut down on the clutter. A place for everything and everything in its place.

You do make good use of your dungeon Mike.
