Well, you can all relax. While ROTS isn't a masterpiece, it's pretty darn good.
I managed to slip into a preview showing earlier today and had a thoroughly good time. Yes, it's pretty grim in places. Yet if anything, I'd say it wasn't grim enough.
The opening battle will have your jaw hitting the floor. Wall-to-wall butt-kicking on a cosmic scale. And the betrayal of the Jedi...well, it really, really hurts. Even when you know it's coming, it hurts.
Oh, yes. This one's a keeper.

"It took him two movies to realise that people don't want this "family values", JarJar kiddie crap. Congrats George, but I coulda told you that years ago - maybe you could of saved the whole franchise"
Yeah I agree. So many screw-ups and lousy choices in the first two movies. Walked out of TPM feeling disgusted and disappointed. AOTC was even worse. Maybe this will be better.

I guess you haven't progressed yet to the point of getting a sour taste in your mouth when you realize that part of that $9.50 will go straight to the DNC and pay for anti-GOP advertizing.

If you recall, Ian MacDermid(sp?) is a classical British actor, and has maintained the role for 30 years. He's got a lock on how to make the Emperor a nasty (ahem!) which is what makes it so grim.
I am soooo anxious to see it.

It's actually funny in places, not forced Jar Jar funny, but clever and puckish. Did I miss the movie where Jar Jar was funny? Are you using some new definition of 'funny'?
Anyway, it's good to hear that Lucas didn't screw this film up with Jar-Jarbonic (Or is it just Jar-bonic?) speaking twits. I still think he'll do time in Purgatory for the Diner scene and the PC 'Death-sticks' crap.
I KNOW the formerly talented director will do time in hell for making movies solely for the purpose of selling action figures...
At least I believe it rather strongly...

I almost forgot about Jar Jar. So did Lucas, thank God. I really don't get what all the Jar-Jar phobia is about. I really liked him.

I'd pay to see Jar-Jar and Wesley Crusher have a duel to the death. And the winner is... the viewing public!

I'd rather see them both as Jabba the Hut's prison bitches.

I'd like to see the Hitchhiker's Guide - sort of.
I mean, Weren't Zaphod and Ford supposed to be, like, second cousins? And where is the extra head and the extra arm? Do they get to Milliway's?
I don't see how the dry, British humor of the books, radio series, and TV miniseries can translate to a mass American audience. (BTW, Douglas Adams also wrote for Monty Python's Flying Circus - "ALBATROSS!")
/slamming down a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster. Like being hit in the head with a gold brick and a slice of lemon, ya know. Not in the mood for jinnintonix, but I know EXACTLY where MY towel is!

I agree. I haven't seen Hitchhiker's yet, but I do know that the books, the radio series, and the miniseries were all different, and that's the way Douglas Adams wanted them to be.

Oh don't give me no more of that Ol' Janx Spirit

My tongue will lie
