But the BBC exit polls predict the Tories are doing better in the Labour marginals cutting the Labour majority to 66.

In terms of seats, the poll swings some to each. In terms of vote share Labour - Lib Dem , they are predicting no change in the Conservative vote share.

In some ways, it good. In some ways, it's bad. The Parliament is more conservative, but Gordon Brown would be a more left Prime Minister than Blair.

Gordon Brown is far too prickly a character to be Prime Minister for long - he will offend too many people and Labour will be on the way out.

I'm pretty sure a Labour win overall was a given, but the size of their diminished numbers should be very, very upsetting to them.
