Every GI loves children - and that explains a lot of this - but the Major has a boy - probably about the same age as this little girl - and I'm sure that added more to his urgency.

That's all we need to know to keep hanging in until the mission is accomplished.
We're helping those people - esp. the children - get a better life. And when they show appreciation, we know we're doing the right thing.
