I hope this comes true and this Iraq mis-adventure can end (for U.S. at least). Think of the troops.

Gee, a post-and-run straight out of the Moveon.org talking points! What do you think, Zia?

"Iraq mis-adventure"

What misadventure? I don't see mis-adventure, unless of course you define misadventure as the toppling of a dictator and the installment of a the first legitimately elected free government in Iraqi history.

I agree. Here are some positions posted by Diesonne (is that for "Die Sony"?):

On torture:

"Thirdly, it's just too slippery a slope and we've got to maintain the moral high ground as much as possible. If you "know for certain" that torturing someone might save 100,000 lives, you might say "OK, it's worth it". What about 10,000 lives? What about 100? What about 1? What about saving some property? You are very very unlikely to ever know for certain that someone has current accurate knowledge and that they will divulge that knowledge under duress and that you can act upon that knowledge to save lives."

On PBS:

"PBS has great kids programs and very little commercial advertising. My little girl loves Dora the Explorer.

I can't comment on Bill Moyers' program as I don't watch it, but let's be careful about what we ask for. I for one appreciate having independent non-commercial quality kids programs."

On Judicial Filibusters:

"We should be careful about this. Bush got something like 90% of the judges he wanted. When the tables turn someday in the future and we're the minority party, and there are extremely liberal anti-corporation or anti-capitalist judicial nominees that we want to block, we're going to be sorry. I'd rather have a filibuster ability on judges than legislation even. Legistlation can be changed but judges can't."

On the ACLU:

"It seems to me that the ACLU is constantly fighting for the liberties of individuals while limiting the powers of government. Whether defending Nazis right to march or Oliver North's right against self-incriminating testimony or more recently arguing that Rush Limbaugh's medical records should remain sealed, they seem to me to be solidly on the side of individual Constitutional rights, especially the First Amendment."

On CT Civil Unions:

"A victory of unemotional rational consideration of individual rights over knee-jerk emotional bigotry? Congratulations, Connecticut. For the sake of a prosperous America, this is a good development. Remember, even our President has stated support for civil unions for gays (after the 2004 election, for obvious reasons)."

On lack of WMD's:

"To stand on a soapbox, I'll say that as a human being, I'm glad that this tyrant Saddam has been removed but as an American taxpayer, I'm disappointed that the primary justification was false and that the war did not pay for itself as predicted and that no one was held accountable for these failures."

Looking at his posts I suspect he is a moderate. Not sure if he would fit in with FR, but if he behaves, I reccommend keeping him around.

hahaha! :)

My wife told me last night they wanted to go and I thought at first she was kidding.

So I laughed. She kept telling me, "no, really!" So I knew she was serious.

Last minute, spur of the moment trips always are fun I think. :)

Doh!! Now that I've told you the last half of the story, lemme copy/paste from my earlier reply to someone else about my whereabouts today. haha! :)

Sorry for the slow reply. The little woman and me and her Chinese friend went to Bossier City, Louisiana today.

They wanted to do the Casinos. So we went to Boom-Town and won a ton of $$$$ ($30 between the three of us, lol!). And then we went to Jack Binion's Horseshoe Casino. We lost our ar$e's there ($7). hehe!

We had fun. :)

Indeed - he's promoting continued filibusters, Bush got "90%" of his judges, etc.

You sure you're on the right site? From your home page:

I am the cautious long-term-planning rational type of guy who wants a transparent accountable government that guarantees individual freedoms and provides for rule of law and provides for fair and vigorous capatilist competition.

What the heck is this supposed to mean? Caution, as in if you don't like "Under God" in our pledge of allegiance we should scrap it because you, or the ACLU, thinks it should be "under your belief system", so we don't step on anyone's toes? America is a country of doers. We don't sit on our hands. That is how Iraq got into the shape it did. If America relied on "caution" as you put it, half the world would be speaking German.

I think perhaps you need to read Jim's guidelines as to what this site is about. You will find your ideas are considerably more liberal than most of us here care to accept.

Oh boy number 5!!! Love it Love it...

And I must be in a "bad mommy" mood this morning cause I'm hoping that the guys who caught the #3 bad guy yesterday interrogated him in a less than "Genevia?" Convention-like way. (No wonder they didn't tell US immediately.)

After they're done, we should give him to the England chick to lead around on a lease naked for awhile...

Boy, I gotta stop, I think I'm having a raging hormonal episode... excuse me....the body is over-ruling the brain today...
