But ultimately, all we have to do is examine the fruits of the popes and we know them by their fruit.

Ditto for Protestantism ... except that all of the historically Protestant countries are now virtually atheist. The most Christian country in Europe is Catholic Malta, the second most Christian country is Catholic Poland.

Protestantism is dead in Scandinavia, dead in the Netherlands, dead in England, dead in Scotland, dead in Germany, etc. The denominations with any history to them in this country are dying rapidly; those without are spinning off into oddities like "word faith".

Some fruit.

Sometimes it seems that Christianity is weakening, or atleast it's testimony on Earth is weakening. You have 1 billion supposed Catholics more interested in Mary glorification and pope glorification, and building glorification who know nothing about the gospel and you have a hodgepodge of denominations who are also walking away from the scriptures. I actually visited a methodist mission in CR a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know what it was going to be or that it was Methodist when I went in but my wife asked if I would leave if there was a female pastor. Well I said yes but after I got there and saw that there was this female that was going to preach, morbid curiosity caused me to stay.

All in all she wasn't that horrible doctrinally. I've seldom heard a preacher that I couldn't criticize anyway, if you can imagine that. But the whole thing reminded me of Saul offering a profane offering. It's not that he was not good enough to worship or serve the Lord, but he wasn't supposed to do that.

With the exception (at least currently) of Poland, Europe is becoming very much barren of Christianity. Italy and Spain, historically very Catholic countries, also have very low birth rates and church attendance. To blame that on Protestants isn't honest, it has more to do with a prevailing world view that is very hostile to Christ.
