I was asked by a manager at a mall eye place to go into the restroom to nurse my baby. The restroom only had a toilet inside. I refused. I wondered if that manager ate her own lunch in that restroom.

I guess I'd better keep my hands out of my pockets from now on when I'm in the mall.

That's ridiculous. I understand that some people may have a hangup about the "let it all hang out" type of nursing, but c'mon, the kid was covered with a blanket. That security guard was a jerk.

I just do not want to see this when I am eating. It seems most of those stories take place in a restaurant of fast-food place. This is the same to me, as a guy taking a leak in the middle of a food court.

"The human race wouldn't exist without breast milk," said nursing mom Rachel Tarbutton.

Hmmmm...and all this time I thought it was water, air, and a favorable climate.

"I don't think I'll ever be able to shop there again, because I was just so upset about it," she said.

I agree with her need and right to breast-feed her child, and I greatly appreciate that she did it discreetly.

BUT I'm really sick of everyone dugging at my heart strings.

Couldn't she say, "I'm never shopping here again cuz there a$$holes!"

Are people's emotions really that fragile?

My neighbor is a mom (breast-feeder)

If she's at our house, in front of strangers, she'll say loudly, "Well, time to pop a boob." She take one out and starts feeding in a room full of people."

It's the most natural thing in the world, but because the breast is also a sex object for men, I would think women would want to be more discreet.

Do they really want all those men staring at their breasts?

If I 'talked' to their breast. (Ladies you know what I mean,) you would be angry, but it's ok to pop a boob in public? We men are supposed to pretend were not looking?

Sex is the other most natural thing, but do you want to see people screwing in the food-court at the mall? NO.

Isn't the big joke, when they're kissing, "Get a room, already!"

The only reason this is a problem is because MEN have made it a sex issue. They are the ones that need to control their hormones. (Like that will ever happen)

But mall security seems to have a problem pleasing everyone. I was warned that wearing a scarf on my hairless scalp was "a gang symbol."

I cannot understand how a society that is absolutely obsessed with breasts (just walk by a magazine stand) can get so bent out of shape when they are used for their ORIGINAL INTENDED PURPOSE.

This says more about the security guard and the manager than about the nursing mom.

As for me, a gentleman learns to avert his gaze a little when he realizes a mother is breastfeeding her child.

Feed your baby at home. If your baby must eat while you have it out, use a bottle.

Do NOT take yourself out of your bra in public and expect people not to notice, or to be grossed out. If I wanted to see your snoobage, I'd ask you.

It's the woman's equivalent of young boys showing butt-crack.

This is stupid and wrong. What the hell do they think nature made breasts for? Let her nurse her kid in peace.

Ironic that it's in style to let just about everything imaginable "hang out", but when a mom discretely uses her body for a legitimate purpose, that's not acceptable in this warped society.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for what I've already posted. That's cool.

Feed your babies at home, mothers. Plan YOUR schedules better, and we won't have to look at you flaunting what we fined the network for letting Janet Jackson show.

The security guard and the manager should have been forced to eat their next meal in a bathroom stall. Morons...

I don't mind breast feeding in public. I just can't find a woman who will let me do it.

One of my friends is a militant breastfeeder. She refuses to use a blanket or any kind of cover. In her mind a naked breast isn't really naked if there's a baby attached to it. To be honest, after five kids her breasts now resemmble something out of National Geographic and it's not the most pleasant sight in the world... Interestingly enough we've gotten more angry looks from other women than men who usually just look away.

Where was she sitting in the food court? Right plunk in the middle, or off in a quiet corner -----with her back turned, and having a peaceful time with the babe? If the latter was the case, then the security people over re-acted.

Malls have all sorts of places that have quiet sitting areas. If she found the rest rooms objectionable, then she could have found some private area, or have gone back to her car.

We'll probably hear more of this when she hits the news circuits.

I was going to say something about burping and spitting-up babies in the food court, ------ but I won't.
