ATLANTA (CNN) -- Jennifer Wilbanks, a Georgia woman missing since Tuesday night, has been found alive and well in New Mexico, a friend of the family told CNN.
Wilbanks was located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and told her family she had been abducted and taken there, according to John Kim, a friend of Wilbank's family.
Excerpt - story follows:CNN
It's CNN! ;-)
:P
I'm more confounded by the idea that if she got a decent look at her kidnappers, they would let her go. Kidnapping i sa serious crime. No witnesses is best. It's kind-of like the criminal world rule that is one person is killed in a felony, then since the entire band of criminals is now guilty of felony murder, it's best to kill anyone else who could give police any kind of clue leading back to any one member of the band of criminals. Once guitly of felony murder, the rest is 'gravy.' It's smartest to kill them all and leave no one to tell a tale. That's not just in the movies: it's the rule!
No kidding.
Get some sleep or whatever it is you need.
True, I'm trying to think of a case in recent history where kidnappers let their victim go......
Anyone, anyone ?
Kidnapping is a serious, serious crime. And it usually ends badly. I'm a casual student of criminality - kidnapping seldom ends very well (partly for the reason I said: it's a serious crime and you don't leave a blabbermouth alive to tell the tale that may lead back to you).
That has me stumped also. No witnesses! They must really be STUPID CRININALS! I'm very interested in hearing the rest of this one!
Nobody suggests that you believe anything.
If you fear innocent speculation keep your head in the sand. And you can also keep your whining potty mouth ("pure crap") shut in Iowa. Save that language for the ones unfortunate enough to be in your presence.
They are looking for two numbnuts that abducted her.....
It's best to be happy she is alive, but open minded as to what really happened.
Like I said, I am glad she is found alive and breathing. Speculation on stuff like her motivation, etc, is silly, to be sure. But speculation that suggests how dumb these crooks are is entirely legit. From that, it's reasonable to extrapolate that the amazingly dumb crooks might not be real at all.
Anything beyond that is premature, to be sure.
The cops have a good grasp of this: they get missing persons cases from time to time where, in fact, an ostensibly happy wife tosses caution to the wind and pairs off with an exciting stranger rather than go home to a dull life. Sometimes men just decide its best to not come home one day after going out for a pack of cigarettes. It's not common, but it's not uncommon either.
If we take her story at face value (and for now I do, why not?) she was lucky enough to have been kidnapped by two dumb crooks. Let the evidence lead wherever it may.
Policewoman said it was at a 7-11.
Police are saying it's a possibility that she was sexually assaulted. huh? There is still something strange about this abduction, IMO.
I think so too! I need to get back to bed. I'll check here later. If you remember, please ping me to whatever you find important.
Nite all.
I'm one of those 'AWFUL' FReepers who thought she was dead and that her fiancé was a creepy killer. (And what's with not being allowed to voice that opinion here? FReepers being asked to leave the thread for disagreeing? sheesh!)
Something about this still stinks to me. Smells like a hired kidnapping that was cut short once the story got too much attention and he knew he couldn't get away with it. That's my gut feeling; if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. So what?
I hear you. And what abductor grabs a beautiful girl, cuts her hair, drives her across the country, and then LETS HER GO because of too much media attention??? Sham........ possibly!
It's wonderful that she is alive and hopefully well! But, IMO, something doesn't smell right here. Maybe, with so many crazy things happening around us, I've become jaded in my thinking. Could this have all been for some sort of publicity stunt? I hope I'm wrong and will apologize to all, if so.
I hear you. I'm just glad she's fine, and the friends and family are having ONE GREAT MORNING! Watching Greta interview them was a joy!
I'M SHOCKED! SHOCKED I say!! :)

Please leave the thread. No room for that tinfoil hat stuff here! LOL!!
