Present news conference on FOX news..

Police spokesman says boyfreind took PRIVATE polygraph this morning, but not GBI administered test..

Police commentary is that boyfreind has too many "conditions" to taking a polygraph.. GBI won't accede to those demands..
Main demand: Videotape the polygraph testing...
Possible 2nd demand: Lawyer present..

I do not consider these requests / demands ( depending on who's talking ) to be unreasonable..
The boyfreind has the right to protect his rights..

It is still "suspicious" behaviour, in the light of how it was presented by the Police spokesman..
"My Way or the Highway".. ??
Is the GBI being too inflexible??

Yeah, all you said is correct. Either that, or he KILLED HER. What does your gut tell you?

It seems whenever the media runs out of stories, some fool kills a woman and the cycle continues.

I wouldn't have taken the lie Detector in the first place.

If you're innocent you only have something to loose by taking one of those things. Even a GBI won't hold up in court unless both parties (defense and prosecution) agree to let it stand, and that obviously doesn't happen, and it isn't relevant here.

When they start finding life insurance policies where he is the only beneficiary and plane tickets to France with his mistresses name on them, then the red flags will go up.

I know someone who was accused of a crime (didnt do it it turns out) who was dead afraid of taking a police polygraph. People are SCARED of those things, because they are afraid that any bit of anxiety might show up as guilt. Many folks will go to a private polygrapher first, to test the waters. If they pass, they give out the results, if they fail, no one ever finds out about it.

As my friend was preparing to go to a private poly, the police called and said they had the real perp in custody, oops sorry.

I would never ever take a polygraph test in a criminal case. They produce too many false positives. (you lied). In many cases just the way a question is asked or the question itself can make you nervous or uneasy. I taken a couple of lie detector tests for job interviews when I was younger. They are no fun, make you feel like a criminal and are not reliable.

Even if you feel that you have nothing to hide, don't risk a false positive. Then you are presumed guilty, the cops stop looking for other suspects and you risk being charged and possibly convicted.

Force the cops and DA to produce evidence of your guilt besides a failed polygraph test.

Man...I don't know...the polygraph wouldn't be admissable in GA, right? It would move the focus away from him though. It's not like failing the polygraph is going to put him under any more suspicion from the cops, they always think the boyfriend, husband etc... did it. Pssing it would proabbly remove him from consideration as a suspect.

Personally, if I were innocent, I'd take it and figure that I'd "pass" it and that would be all the cops needed to focus all their energies in another direction.

If you are suspected of a crime, and you talk to the Police, you are insane. The very first thing a lawyer will tell you is to shut the heck up, because nothing good can come from talking to the police.
