At the White House, Pres. Bush holds an evening press confer-ence. The President intends to talk about his Social Security reform plan and his energy plan. He is also likely to get questions on other topics such as the John Bolton nomination, Senate filibuster rules on judicial nomina-tions, House ethics rules, etc.

For some reason you are under the mistaken impression this conference was intended to be about illegal immigration. He announced it concerned S.S. and the energy crisis.
Anything that has followed has been prompted by the press. If you wish the conference to be on issues other than the two it was intended to address, become a reporter, get called on, and ask him.

This is a News Conference. Reporters ask The President questions, and then The President answers.
I figured a fellow FReeper or two would recognize the reference. :)
And he has yet to be asked a question about the borders.

Who's lamenting? Has anyone ever heard the president seriously address the border situation in a news conference? Is there any reason to hope that he will tonight?
