This is the letter I sent to Senator Ken Salazar

This is the letter I sent to Senator Ken Salazar this morning:

Senator Salazar,

I heard you on the KOA Morning News today and must say; I have never been as disappointed with an elected official as I am with you. Your characterizations of Focus on the Family, and indeed by extension myself, are just flat wrong.

I am not a member or supporter of Focus on the Family, but I will make a point to be now. A theocracy? Do you misunderstand your neighbors to that degree? And if so, how do you justify remaining in office? I am aghast that someone could actually draw the conclusions you are drawing; and to what end? To try to protect abortion or some other left wing cause that has lost public support? You stated this morning that you are a devout Catholic; then why do you not, like all other devout Catholics, stand up for life?

There is a vast gulf between your words and your deeds Senator. You stated this morning you want to represent all Coloradans yet you seemed to have explicitly excluded people with my viewpoint. I do not much care to be characterized the way you characterized me today; and I intend to express my displeasure by writing $1000 checks to whomever runs against you in 2010, as many checks as I am allowed to write. I also intend to write checks to whomever runs against your brother in 2006. And just for good measure; I think I think I will start making monthly contributions to the RNC.

Thank you Senator for thoroughly motivating me to see that you have no further employment on my dime.

I had a cousin that was evading the draft from World War II up until his death three years ago. I think I will remember Ken Salazar's broken promise a lot longer than that. Being a Colorado voter, I will make my displeasure known where it counts - at the ballot box.
