I almost turned the TV off before Denver picked. Clarett's a big story today than Alex Smith!!

"Well last year, looking at the games, Ohio State DOMINATED Michigan. I happened to be at that game. It wasnt even close after the 1st QTR. Michigan (a team that ALWAYS tanks in the bowl games) took Texas to the wire. hmmmm......"

Like I stated in a previous reply: "57-37-6 .600% winning record vs. Ohio State is what I was referring to." dot dot dot dot dot

I would rather talk about the more previous games, since that is what we will have to look at going into September.

Let's not forget the past 5 years between Texas and Oklahoma....Ohio State Michigan has been much closer than that....

yeah...

I wonder, as the Cowboys have like 30 picks on the 2nd day, who they are going to get...

the Browns pi$$ed me off last night when they picked Charlie Frye. They should have waited and gotten Lienart next year.

Maybe the Boys can add some weapons to the offense.

No matter how good a defense is some points must be put on the board by the offense.

I hope your Browns pick up some bargains today.

yeah me too...

but unfortunately they tend to do drafts like the Vikings, one good player and 6 or 7 horrible ones....

"Let's not forget the last 5 years between Texas and Oklahoma"

Oh believe me, as Horn fan I can tell you that is painfully on my mind more often than not!

As far as your previous statement:

"Well last year, looking at the games, Ohio State DOMINATED Michigan. I happened to be at that game. It wasnt even close after the 1st QTR. Michigan (a team that ALWAYS tanks in the bowl games) took Texas to the wire."

You can't judge how Texas would do against Ohio State by how close their game was with Michigan just because Ohio State whipped up on Michigan. Ohio State got stomped by Iowa and Michigan beat Iowa by 13 pts. Ohio State lost to N.W. and Michigan beat N.W. by 3 TD's.

I guess we will see come Saturday night Sept. 9th in Columbus on ABC's nationwide broadcast! Texas will have played 2 legendary teams they have never played before in the history of college football within the span of 3 games.I can't wait!

yeah but, they will make the lines out based on those final 2 games, especially because Ohio State is returning just about everybody and Texas lost 2 really big cogs in their system.

A few of the drafts winners and losers:

Winnners:

Cleveland Browns

The Browns landed three pieces that should be fundamental parts of the rebuilding process. Wide receiver Braylon Edwards has the potential to be a superstar, safety Brodney Pool could step in and start tomorrow and quarterback Charlie Frye is a talented arm who could be groomed into a very good player behind Trent Dilfer.

Dallas Cowboys

Bill Parcells nailed his draft plan, getting exactly what he wanted: Starting-quality players for his switch to the 3-4 defense. Defensive end/linebacker DeMarcus Ware reminds Parcells of Lawrence Taylor, while defensive end Marcus Spears should be a load as a run-gobbling lineman. And linebacker Kevin Burnett had a package of skills that got him considered by teams at the end of the first round, yet Parcells got him in the middle of the second.

Losers:

Green Bay Packers

Getting Rodgers at the 24th pick is nice, but the Packers failed to make any choice that will make an immediate impact on next season's team. And that's not good when you have an aging icon like Brett Favre who is constantly teetering on retirement. Beyond Rodgers, safety Nick Collins was an atrocious reach in the second round, and wide receiver Terrence Murphy is not a need whatsoever.

Redskins QB Patrick Ramsey

Regardless of what Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs says, a first-round quarterback is not drafted to be a backup. He's drafted to be an eventual successor. Ramsey was just awarded the starting job at the end of last season. Now he knows how Drew Brees felt at this time

Drafts get two grades. A grade immediately afterwards and then another grade five years later.

Yep, I cant count the times we drated a future superstar who fizzled against the extreme competition and pressure of the NFL.

I found this stat on Ware drafted by the Cowboys yesterday:

As a four year starter, Ware had 27.5 sacks, including 11 as a senior in 2004, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors in the SBC.

It will be so good to get some pressure on the opposing QB, just about any NFL QB will pick you apart if they have the time. Its going to be a better year for us in North Texas. Going from the team to beat for a decade then groveling in a sea of mediocrity sucked.

WOW. Someone nationally approving the Browns draft. That hasn't happened in an eternity, and for good reason too.
