I don't like the new Battlestar. Hubby does, but I don't.

People kept watching hoping they would get it right. That does sum up the main reason I watched. In the case of Voyager, I kept watching in the hope Janeway would get thrown out of the airlock. After awhile I grew some sense and stopped watching altogether.

I really tried to like Enterprise and I thought the crew was great, but the story lines just seemed so out of place. I have grown to like the new BG on SciFi and broke my neck to get my cable back on. I grew to like Seasons 3-7 of Deep Space Nine even more than all 7 of TNG and I could tolerate Voyager, Seven of Nine made it more likeable the last few season, but Enterprise just lost too much steam after the first season, I still do watch it but except for a few good storylines, I think it was time to pull the plug and it is a shame that bad writing did the show in.

That is my favorite episode too. Its call "This Side of Paradise" or something like that. I always though the two best sequences in terms of acting we in that episode. Where Spock is hit with the spores and has a negative reaction at first, and Captain Kirk on the bridge alone speaking his entry in the log.
Good stuff ...

I just couldn't get into Enterprise, I always wanted the show to be about the true first captain of the Enterprise, Robert T. April. But that would've meant that Brenan and Braga would've had to acknowledge TOS canon, they would never do that. TOS history was a lot more interesting than anything they contrived, here's an example of pre-Enterprise history from The Spaceflight Chronology:

Also the fact that SG1 had a higher rating than Enterprise put the nail in the coffin.

I have to differ. Don't get me wrong, B5 is great, but "Firefly" was the best Sci-fi series ever. Reasons:
1) good space physics: i.e. no sound in space.
2) No aliens that look just like humans with funny noses.
3) Strong conservative/pro-capitalism themes. Anti-big government.
4) excellent acting.
5) Truly scary bad guys (Niska, Government agents, Reavers).
If you haven't seen it, get the DVD's of the first (and only) season, then see the movie in September...if you are on this forum, and like Sci-fi AND don't love Firefly I will be shocked.

Ditto.
The station show was the best of the lot. Can not remember it's name though, and do not really care.
The last couple of season for the current show have been interesting.
IMHO: The best movie was VI (Wrath of Khan is second best).

It was a shame that Firefly got stuck in Fox's "Friday Night Death Slot" during the baseball playoffs. Even X-Files barely survived that time slot. Between that, skipping the real pilot and broadcasting the shows out of order it was no surprise that Firefly didn't survive.
Can't wait for the movie - and I hope someone like Sci-Fi channel will have some sense and pick up the series.

Ooops! Forgot Firefly. Good show. pity. Do have DVD.
Actually it is only half the first season, show was killed in mid season. Like Crusade, it was killed just as the story got interesting.

saying that the wrath of khan wasn't the best star trek movie will get you shot in some places. Those places would be Star Trek conventions, and the pistols they would shoot would be plastic replicas of phasers, but maybe they'd get lucky and the sounds they made would hurt your ears.
To: The G Man
Have you forgotten Babylon 5? Just becasue it wasn't turned into an never ending multiple-franchise and it stuck to its 5 year arc is no reason to dis it.

Fake? When I went to Sci-Fi conventions I always carried a real gun, disguised as a fake gun. A little contact cement on the cut in the "peace" knot and I'm not worried. Besides, I never went to a Star Trek only convention.

I love the new BSG, but Space Above and beyond was a great Sci FI show too back in the day.
