KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
Police said they arrested a man for spitting on Academy Award winning actress Jana Fonda during a book-signing stop in Kansas City Tuesday night.Fonda, 67, spoke at Unity Temple, in The Plaza shopping district, about her new book, "My Life So Far" and her new movie with Jennifer Lopez called "Monster-In-Law."
At about 9 p.m., police said a man who had been waiting in line for about 90 minutes, passed a book to Fonda and then spit a large amount of tobacco juice into her face.
Thy said the man then ran away and was taken into custody by off-duty officers, who were providing security for the event.
Fonda declined to prosecute the man for allegedly spitting in her face.
Michael A. Smith, 54, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, which is a city charge.
I don't read BS. I was expressing a side opinion about chewing tobacco. Here's the correct link to my comment down the thread as I wish people would read a whole thread before commenting.

It would mean a public relations nightmare for her book tour. Don't underestimate her. She didn't do it out of charity.
Well, ok then - maybe I mis-read the tobacco thread.
I still SALUTE Michael who SPIT in Jane Fonda's face with tobacco juice.
I wish I could join in!
Believe me I'll never be on Jane Fonda's side. It's a good thing she didn't press charges.
I know. I agree with you 100%.
Thanks, I know, cyborg. Not everyone reads the same.
I usually don't comment until the end, either
Come to think of it, I can understand why a veteran would want to immediately comment on what I said. The memories of coming home aren't so warm and fuzzy for Vietnam vets. It's not like Desert Storm parades, etc. It's so tragic really.
Think about it. Read the book. Pretty revealing--if you care to know and learn. I'm not a veteran, but I'm there.
#29..You're presuming she has a conscience.
#140..Again....You're presuming she has a conscience.
Yes. I despise what she did and I think she should have to face those P.O.W.'s whom she harmed and who represent those who will never return home whom she harmed, but spitting on anyone is filthy and I don't condone it.
Well I can only hope you might understand!
Some boys back then came home in a caged bus.
If you don't know about it, it's no one's fault, except the Media didn't tell it.
I'd tell one story of many I know. That wouldn't mean much.
PTSD
The Vietnam Vets who arrived back home would have preferred to be welcomed with flags and parades; but they too were spit on, because Fonda and her friends said they were "baby killers" and deserved it.
Fonda deserved a little of the same treatment. She needs to realise what she put our heroes through. She needs to "feel their pain".

Don't you recall?? Good then. Stupid is...
She hired prostitutes do spit on her elsewhere.
I hope you can supply the next crossword puzzle, Don't make it too hard.
He likes the easy ones.
TV Guide.
Why am I surprised you said that? Based on your posting history, I shouldn't be at all surprised. And yet, I had to read it three times before I would accept the fact that you actually said that. I'm just so sick of reading nasty insults about our troops and vets. Go ahead and deny it now.

Most of them WERE spit upon! Caged busses proved it. Jane Fonda = ugh! NO wonder so many have PTSD! She'll never get it.
. ya, sure, OK,
Thanks for the picture. She never looked better.
