Ratzinger is an outspoken friend of American christians and even said, that Europe can learn from the American example. Ratziger was silent on the Iraq issue because he didn't want to argue JP2's position against the war. Insiders believe that Ratzinger understood and approved the reason for this war. Ratzinger is a true conservative. Another nail in the coffin to the liberalist agenda.

Exactly. Hooray! I doubt that St. Joan of Arc was a liberal, or listened to any "liberal agenda" then either! There are some causes, and some wars...no matter how people detest war...that have to be fought. Otherwise we would be ruled and overrun by evil tyrants and dictators who are not rational and one cannot deal rationally with irrational people. Hmmmm....I believe (LOL) there was even a war in Heaven, too. (smug smirk)

Earlier this morning Fox showed a snippet of an interview with an American Cardinal, asked if he thought an American might be chosen...he burst out laughing and said NO. It was quite amusing.

No, I pretty much suck. Even Jesus hates me....

It has long been believed that we deeply know ourselves better than anyone else ever could, even if on the surface we deny that truth. I believe you know yourself to be what you said.

Dear Aquinasfan,

Well, I read herein that St. Benedict is the patron saint of Europe. I know that part of Pope Benedict's (I like writing that!) program is to reclaim Europe for Christiantity.

I wonder, though, if he gave any thought to the last Pope Benedict, whom many considered a "moderate."

As a Christian I'm loving it. The MSM is not a friend to Christians, so having a worldwide broadcast concerning Christianity I see as a gift.

Amen, Soul Seeker! Me too. God is making HIS presence known in this world so desperately trying to shut Him out.

To GOD be all the glory!

This is a day for celebration.

It was surprising to hear that he was elected in only four votes. I heard that the shortest number of votes before was three. Pope John Paul II was elected in eight votes.

It will raise morale on the right, no doubt about that.

It's done wonders for my morale!

And I cried and I laughed and I whooped! when I heard that is what we got. And I speak as a non Catholic, but a member, along with all the Catholics, of the Christian Church, the Body of Christ.

Thanks for your magnanimity.

If we last that long, I suspect the Church will allow married priests...you can be a widower and become a priest now. Don't know about divorced, though. Doesn't seem likely.

Thought you (pa mom and cyborg) might find this of interest!

Thanks Southern Federalist!

With that, I'm off FR. Things to do and all that. I knew though when I saw the first "Ratzinger is a Nazi" type post, that FR would come through and on the very SAME THREAD, debunk such a farsical claim!

I close this thread with the same words I first posted to it: God Bless our new Pope!

I don't disagree; I was just explaining it to the other poster.

It seems to me that the election of Cdl. Ratzinger has pretty much disproven the alleged St. Malachy predictions.

Of course.

And this time our desires were in concert with God's plan.

I was hoping for Ratzinger, as well.

all the buildings and streets are perfectly lined up and everything is in exact order.

Just like our sock drawers and kitchen cupboards. There is not Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in our family, there's just good order!! (ooops, gotta run and wash my hands...apologies to any real OCD sufferers!)

See, I like that about him. I worry about those who won't accept any taint in his past. Whatever he did, and I don't think it was very much, he did before he took his vows.

I am utterly evil, devoid of a soul, and I am here to destroy your tiny little suburban world.

But I'm still hoping for a shot at the Papacy once Ratzinger passes on.

No it hasn't. Malachy called this Pope the glory of the Olives. Israel, in Scripture is always referred to as "the olive tree." The gentiles were grafted into the Jewish Olive tree. Ratzinger is a Jew.
