Then, like me, you're condemned to burn in Hell, according to Pope Benedict. There wasn't any chance of a "liberal" Pope, since JP2 had selected all the Cardinals in his image, but seriously, this man hates Protestants. Well, based on your ridiculous comment, and the fact that this is your first day on the forum, FR probably feels like Hell to you anyway. Or soon will! :-D

I had hopes it would be me, but when I didn't get a phone call last night.... You had my vote. I'd demand a recount if I were you.

He looks great, and he looks happy, and I'm glad he was elected, but when I saw these pictures I realized how much I miss JPII.

They're melting down at DU!
I haven't seen them this angry since November.
Profnaity, blashphemy and crazed emotion. Don't visit after eating.

Pope Benedict XVI - His father, a police officer, came from a traditional family of farmers from Lower Baviera. He spent his adolescent years in Traunstein, and was called into the auxiliary anti-aircraft service in the last months of World War II

According to an online article I read yesterday, the longest conclave in the 20th century was five days. This was very speedy.
