Sounds like Hagel has seen the light..Sounds like the Republicans had to beat the light into him.

Actually, when I hear Carl Cameron's name, I get a mental picture of John Kerry, since he was Kerry's mouthpiece for Fox during the election!!! Yuck---
Glad about Hagel---but, like they say, it ain't over until.....Hillary sings! LOL

I think Lugar releasing his statement of support for Bolton today is tantamount to some other in your face type telling the dems to, well, you know...
;)

Thank you for setting them straight.

... who will vote against Bolton, are expected to for FOR him on the Senate floor ... Thereby keeping alive the possibility of "I actually voted AGAINST Bolton, before I voted FOR him."

I haven't read the thread yet but do you mean that he will be voted out of Committee?..... Or are you saying he'll be voted out of Committee and Confirmed by the Senate in a floor vote?... Has Sen. Frist schedule the floor action yet?

"Lugar refused"
Hmmmm?? I wonder if all those emails and phone calls changed his mind.
BUT .. I WAS SHOCKED AND STUNNED TO HERE LUGAR WOULD NOT DELAY THE VOTE - AND HE HAS SAID THERE WILL BE ENOUGH VOTES TO CONFIRM BOLTON TOMORROW.
Finally - some spine is beginning to show.

This behavior from the Dems has been outrageousNo kidding. A simple cotton-pickin up or down vote is all it takes.

Good for Lugar. Sounds like he finally saw the light too. The Dems are just stalling trying to strongarm the weak links on the Republican side. And links don't come much weaker than Hagel and Chafee.
jfk is going to be devastated. His precious United Nations is about to get a BOLT of reality.

Lugar also took the unusual step of releasing his comments on why he would vote for Bolton today (instead of waiting until the committee meets tomorrow). Portions of those comments were reported. Anyone have a link to his comments?
To: REDWOOD99
I agree - I think he knew that.
And evidently Hagel's staff member who once worked for Bolton - didn't have sufficient reasons to stop Hagel from voting for him.

Well .. I doubt Lugar would have been willing to say Bolton will be confirmed - if he wasn't SURE of the votes.
