MMP Director Jim Gilchrist has been informed that James E. Vlahovich, Director, Cochise County Planning Department has levied a fine of $750.00 per day on the The Miracle Valley Bible College in Hereford, Arizona for renting dorm rooms and campground lots to the Minuteman Project.
Isn't it bad enough that we have MALDEF, the ACLU (who are inciting problems daily), Vicente Fox, the Mayor of Douglas, Jorge Bush, Derechos Humanos, Hoover and his water barrels, anti-American politicians, the Cochise CountyBoard of Supervisors and all the rest harassing the Minuteman Project. Please overwhelm Vlahovich with your protests.
Please do two things:
1) Please contact James E. Vlahovich and share your fury with this arbitrary action against Americans exercising their First Amendment rights and the rights of Property Owners to do with their property as they please.
2) Send this message to everyone you know!

Other that the flagrant use of the word flagrant, that was a decent letter.
Have you been in contact with Rev. Harter?

This may have already been sent up the flagpole but, before the hearing in May an investigation into the housing of the ACLU-ers would be usefull. I contend that the interests into the MMP's cost to the local government's budget extends also to the ACLU's presence in AZ at this time.

Allowing RV's to park without permits often gets bureaucrats riled up, so that sounds like what happened. Hopefully all they will have to do, is pay a permit for RV parking/ camping? (If the county folks are reasonable)

"It's also possible that some of the border towns have a cottage industry of smuggling illegals into the country.
"
I have NO PROOF, but I'd say from hearing various accounts that you are most likely correct. Travis is writing a book about that very subject, whereby the border towns and States are so full of illegals that they have taken over the various local governments.

"Nonresident use of the property without for a private landing area nd headquarters..." The technical term for this is "legal gibberish".

Suiting Director, James E. Vlahovich, in particular and the Cochise County Planning Department in general might get their attention..
Actually the ACLU might be interested, and if NOT, WHY NOT...
A raising hell BUMP...

Thanks for the info, my vacation at MVBC was quite restful, I would hate to see anything untoward happen to the good folks visiting the area that would spoil their "vacations" there.

The County cannot and will not treat Reverend Harter differently than it would treat anyone else who violates the law.
Illegals exempted, of course.

At the risk of sounding anti-MMP I repeat this from Simcox's own site (dated from early March, see my reply above):
"As for utilizing the Miracle Valley Bible College, Vlahovich told supervisors that a permit would be required only if volunteers were planning on occupying a 13-room dormitory on the grounds of the college. Chris Simcox, co-organizer of the project, assured Vlahovich that no volunteers would be sleeping in the dormitory."
If you can defeat the efforts to fine the MMP that's good but it looks like the agreement was that no MMP would be housed at the college -- though I don't understand why that should matter to the government.

Since my post to you I've read this one about Dr. Harder and the college.
Looks like things are getting sorted out.
Thanks.

Prior to April 1, Reverend Harter of the Miracle Valley Bible College asked and was informed of the rules and regulations regarding the uses of his property; he chose to flagrantly violate the rules and ignore the regulations. I question the legitimacy of Cochise County's regulations in this regard. The issue is quite clearly NOT about health and safety.

Thanks for clarifying.
Anyone who deals wih permits and codes and planning commissions and zoning should know one has to kiss butt with all the little aparatchiks in local government.
They love to bust folks, it's called job justification.
