Well that's very interesting penguino, thanks.
They are showing their true, childish, nature. What a bunch of punks and thugs.
Thanks for posting that article Cindy. Now, if they would only take into serious condideration what the majority of American citizens think about the open border situation we might make some progress.
Thanks for all the links Velveeta.
Hopefully every sleeping/waking moment of his monsterous existence is one neverending nightmare.
The reason I knew to look for this trial, is because I caught a quick story on Beslan on BBC yesterday morning. The authorities are looking into claims that there were Russian police who were paid-off by the terrorists to help them cross the border. Hopefully, if this monster on trial can out any of the "supposedly" crooked Russian cops, there could be something positive from this atrocity. My gut feeling is that there are areas in Russia that are generations deep in corruption.
ZARQAWI TAPE
Zarqawi justifies Muslim deaths
Dubai - Anti-US attacks in Iraq which also kill Muslim civilians, do not violate Islamic law, al-Qaeda's feared frontman in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said in a purported tape posted on the internet on Wednesday.
The recording emerged as the US military said that leaders close to Zarqawi had ordered a recent car bombing campaign that has killed hundreds in Iraq.
"Our fighters only take the initiative of carrying out such operations in line with the principles of the sharia," said the voice attributed to the fugitive leader who has a $25m price on his head.
"It is legitimate to shoot all infidels with all the kinds of arms that we have," said the voice, similar to those in earlier recordings attributed to Zarqawi.
"Killing Muslims who are serving as human shields (for the Americans) is allowed by the sharia," he said, backing his arguments with statements from several Muslim clergymen.
In the audiotape, Zarqawi mentioned the death of Pope John Paul II - which indicated that the message was recorded after April 2. (snip)

N.C. airport workers arrested on alleged immigration violations
5/18/2005 11:26 AM
By: Associated Press
Nine workers who service U.S. Navy planes at a Winston-Salem airport were arrested Tuesday on alleged immigration violations.
Reports say agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office made the arrests at Aerospace Manufacturing, Incorporated. They believe those arrested are working illegally in the United States.
The "Operation Shield America" raid at Smith-Reynolds Airport is aimed at finding illegal aliens doing work for the Pentagon.
Reports also said that those arrested were working on P-3 Orions - surveillance planes known as "submarine killers."
The suspects are in the Forsyth County Jail, and may be deported to their home countries in the United Kingdom later this week.(snip)

I saw the gate at the Addison Ave entrance going up last week. Had no clue that this is what is was being tested for. I've seen gates out in "blizzard" areas to close sections of highways. I also think these would help in situations when the President is in town. They expend a lot of man hours posting cruisers at these entrance ramps to restrict access when a motorcade is en route from/to O'Hare. Or like they said in the article, to prevent additional traffic access in case of a major accident on the highway.
I kinda like the idea.

...over the last 2 days I have found out that two units, one in each town on each side of me have been put on alert... one is an infantry unit... and the other a transportation unit.
yes I know that this doesn't mean they will go... but the possiblity is very high... :bm
this would involve 6 soldiers from our area.... with 2 sets of brothers being called up... and 3 cousins... the 3 cousins are within 6 weeks of being out permanmently...they would have their 6 years of guard duty in... but that is how it works... and all 3 were not re upping..
I'm about sick for their parents.... and the one soldier (one of the 3 - 1st cousins) is to be in Joachim's wedding this fall... best friends through school, signed up for the guards together, graduated together, went to boot camp together and in the same platoon.... tho in different unit... Joachim in heavy equipment and Mike in a transportation unit.
While countless ME types enter through our porous northern and southern geographic borders. Either we are serious about people here illegally, or we're not. For 10,000-30,000 annually, it appears we are not. We must enforce our existing laws to the letter, or they are meaningless.
IMHO, it would be a far simpler thing to secure the Mexican border if we really cared to do so. The first line of defense should be those who know the area best: American Landowners. These are the folks who've been the victims of border incursions for decades, with little or no help from our government. The thing to do is to militarize the border with the national guard for each state. THEN train the landowners along the border to use military radios. When they see intruders, simply whistle up a gunship mission and send in the Apaches or a Blackhawk full of troops. That's what we used to call wise use of indigenous forces
This woman will undoubtedly be traumatized for some time to come, and who knows if others have experienced the same fearful situation. Would the statement "she's on her own" (no matter what happens later) pretty much fit here? More reason than ever for each of us to make sure we have "protection" readily available, even if it's only pepper spray. This woman had no idea what the man's intentions were when he shoved the Bible into the doorjamb. Each of us should be ready for any such incident and what could happen with a more forceful or violent attacker.
By the way, keychain sprays and mini-canister air horns (boat quality) can be purchased for less than $10.00. I know, because I bought one this week!
CNS NEWS.com: "FREE KORANS FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE" by Susan Jones (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Over the weekend, CAIR held a conference in the Washington area on the causes and remedies of "Islamophobia and anti-Americanism."") (May 17, 2005)
Excellent idea. Both North and South border states in many places have extremely sparse populations, which enables smugglers and illegals free access to our country. Remember a few threads back the pictures of tents? It's never left my memory for exactly that reason. People sneaking in, eating wild game and living in wooded seclusion - how difficult would that scenario be?
Montana boasts over 30 million acres of state and federal lands, nearly one third of the state. Much of that land provides excellent hunting opportunities
Texas acres of land owned by the federal government in 2000 (2,307,171)
State by State Government land ownership
Basically, lots of land to camp on......and a shortage of people to check on and maintain it (and that's where your plan would come in handy ExSoldier!). I don't understand why our government thus far does not embrace the well-qualified people willing to do work our government cannot or is unable or unprepared to do.
Trivia Email Note:
I received my first LONDON-related version of a Nigerian scam today.
Why post this trivia?
Well, because "Andrew" used the word "PRIVATE" far too many times.
And "Andrew," you were so creative.
