The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

I wonder how true this is and WHY IT IS NOT IN THE NEWS?

An Economic 9-11?
An interesting story appeared briefly a few days ago. Two men were arrested with three trillion (with a "t") in fake US Federal Reserve Negotiable Certificates, sometimes called "bearer bonds". What is interesting about the story is how the US Mainstream media pretty much ignored the whole thing. Considering the non-stop coverage given the Michael Jackson molestation trial, the avoidence of a story of a three trillion dollar crime called attention to itself.

Details of the story are sketchy. Acting on a tip, Philippine police arrested two men in the process of paying for a shipment of some iron boxes to Zurich. Upon opening the boxes, police discovered what was first reported to be Federal Reserve notes, then later corrected to "certificates", totaling three trillion dollars. The two arrested men were released on bail, warrants issued for two other men involved in the crime... and there the story ends.

Why?

Three trillion dollars, even in fake money, should be a huge story. And, for much of the foreign press, it has been. But here in the US, the story is over before it has begun.

So, what was such a huge amount of counterfeit money intended for in Zurich? Normally, currency counterfeiters sell their product through a large distributed chain of passers, who will pay some fraction of the face value of the currency, then spend it in stores, etc. But counterfeit beaerer bonds headed for Zurich strongly suggest the destination was a bank.

So, what happens when three trillion shows up all at one time? At the very least, three trillion dollars worth of paper dumped into the US economy at one time would trigger a sudden inflationary spiral; the usual result of too much cash chasing too few goods and services. Three trillion dollars in bonds presented for redemption through the banks in Zurich could trigger a run on the Federal Reserve itself, as even the Federal Reserve does not keep that kind of cash or even gold reserves at hand. Since the bonds were fakes, the ultimate mastermind could care less if the "money" was lost, and anyone willing to "lose" three trillion dollars in just the right way could bring down the entire US stock market.

George Bush and his neocons need a "terrorist" attack to justify the invasion of Iran, and a staged economic terrorist attack, executed from behind the anonymity of the Swiss Banks would be ideal. Blame for the crash of the US eocnomy could be shifted onto a scapegoat such as Iran, and off of the Congress that has borrowed this nation into ruin over the decades. The infamous FEMA Executive Orders, the means by which the nation can be turned into a legal dictatorship, include an economic crisis among the list of conditions under which the President can suspend the Constitution.

Three trillion in fake Federal Reserve Certificates could do huge damage to the nation, yet the mainstream media that screams "terrorism" everytime a taxicab backfires in Bahgdad has totally buried this story.

World Terror Attacks Tripled in 2004 by U.S.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. count of major world terrorist attacks more than tripled in 2004, a rise that may revive debate on whether the Bush administration is winning the war on terrorism, congressional aides said on Tuesday.

The number of "significant" international terrorist attacks rose to about 650 last year from about 175 in 2003, according to congressional aides briefed on the numbers by State Department and intelligence officials on Monday.

Suspicious Material Forces Emergency Landing Of Flight From JFK

April 26, 2005

CHICAGO -- A report of suspicious material on a United Airlines flight from New York to San Francisco prompted the pilot to make an emergency landing Tuesday at O'Hare International Airport.

The material turned out to be wires, an MP3 player and homeopathic medicines, said Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Ann Davis.

United spokesman Jeff Green and Chicago police would not say if anyone was taken into custody as the Chicago Police Bomb and Arson squad investigated the materials.

A passenger aboard the flight had told a flight attendant he saw another passenger with the suspicious material, Green said. He said the flight attendant and flight crew examined the material and recommended landing.

All 66 passengers and eight crew members aboard United Flight 27 were evacuated after the airplane landed, Green said. No one was injured

WASHINGTON D.C. (PoopyCaca.com) – The latest video release from Osama Bin Laden has hit a series of production obstacles, which is keeping the biggest name in terrorist videotaped statements out of the limelight.

White House Press Secretary, Scott McClellan, said that intelligence officials from the U.S. and Britain have independently confirmed that Bin Laden’s latest video project is "on the back burner due to creative differences."

According to the intelligence reports released by the White House today, the standing exclusive distribution deal Bin Laden had with Al Jazeera was discontinued when the network learned that the most wanted terrorist on the planet was shopping for distribution deals with other networks.

Bob Sherry, CIA spokesperson, said, "Our intelligence shows that Osama Bin Laden was in the process of approaching the BBC about an exclusive European distribution deal, which violated the terms he had with Al Jazeera, the Arabic-language television network based in Doha, Qatar. We also have information indicating that the investors backing the project pulled out due to changes in Saudi Arabian tax laws."

"British intelligence found that Bin Laden was shopping for another deal because he wanted to shoot the latest video statement in High Definition," explained Scott McClellan. "Bin Laden was on his fourth director and the script has been rewritten by several writers, including script consultant Abdul-Hamid McKee, who is well known in terrorist videotaped statement circles for his manifesto ‘Story,’ which he also teaches as a workshop in Afghanistan and Iran."

McClellan declined to speculate when the next statement would be released, but did state, "If Bin Laden waits to release the next video until the crowded summer tent pole season, when the field for attention is crowded and many Americans are on vacation, the audience he wants to scare the hell out of may not be there."

Iraqi Bombers Frustrate U.S. Troops

BAGHDAD - Iraqi insurgents are becoming increasingly sophisticated in concealing and detonating bombs in their campaign to topple the country's fledgling government.

Pentagon documents obtained by the Washington Times say it is getting more difficult for Saddam Hussein's loyalists to recruit Iraqi attackers, so improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, are gaining importance as a weapon to kill troops and civilians.

"Enemy is using door bells and car alarm systems," one confidential briefing stated. "If you stop someone with a bunch of door bells or phones or toy cars, you probably have a bomber."

The Pentagon also has developed a classified technology for disrupting cell-phone signals, which are often used to detonate bombs.

The documents show last summer, insurgents began burying the bombs under roads and then paving over the holes. They "can be spotted by the stain that usually remains on the road," said one briefing paper.

"I hate to say this, but the Defense Department is not where it should be in defeating these things," a defense source told the newspaper.
