A Florida couple was treated after being bitten by hundreds of bed bugs during a vacation cruise on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, according to Local 6 News.
Alan and Nathalie Wasserstorm said their vacation aboard the Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas was ruined by the infestation of bed bugs.
"I was in such disbelief at first, you know, I mean, it was hundreds and hundreds of bugs, we had leaned against all the night before, I mean it literally made my skin crawl," Alan Wasserstorm said.
The couple moved to another room on the ship but it was too late, according to the report.

OK, I'll bite, hahaha...
My number 1 reason is that they sink.
Windstar cruises rule. Don't take a Carnival cruise under any circumstances. I won a free one in a blackjack tournament and never bothered to collect, that's how bad the experience of cruising with Carnival was.
But Windstar ships are terrific, Holland America, too.
Cruising can be great. Very relaxing, good food (except on Carnival), blackjack, too, if cards are your thing. And if you have kids under 12, you don't have to chase 'em around all day, as there are programs to keep the little devils busy.

please, please, what's reason #1? Yes I really want to know.
LOL, nice touch.
Or maybe a horse's head :-)
Bedbugs are once again becoming a real problem for the hotel industry. When you pull down the covers be sure to flashlight the bedding. They live in blankets, spreads, behind wall paper and they are a pain in the arse. Be careful where you stay. The cruise lines are ripe for all manner of vermin and GI problems.Yeeesh
Gross! So there really is a bed bug after all!
No...that's the Congress of the United States.
LOL.
Colassal, crowd-cornered, contaminated, cootied, commercial coastal carriers.
Floating lunch wagons of cyclopean size.
Count me as a comrade who conscribes to *cutting* those cans--as part of their *cargo*--completely. :-)
OMG. LOL.
THAT'S one of the reasons I convinced my husband to get a travel trailer.......I like sleeping in my OWN bed....which gets cleaned regularly!
Such as "Trolling for Sharks?"
Not really, andyandval, that's ALL I know. :-)
Try to keep the blankets and bedspread from touching your skin too. The maids change the sheets (we hope), but I don't know how often hotels are required to change blankets and bedspreads when rooms turn over.
While studies have shown that HIV can survive on bedbugs' mouthparts for up to an hour, the insects are not known to be vectors for disease.
......
"In a landmark case a motel chain in the United States was successfully sued for [U.S.] $382,000 after guests were bitten by bedbugs [Matthias v. Accor, 2003]," he said.
(In my most high-pitched, disgusted-sounding voice possible)....
Eeeewwww!!!
Think about it. How long does it take to reach that level of infestation?
If not the immediately previous guests, it can't be that far back.
Calling all flea specialists... how long to create each flea generation?
Plug in a geometric progression, and viola!.
