I Can't Get Over 'The Frump' (Cindy Adams)
NY Post ^ | 4.10.05 | 4.10.05

The wedding. Ask not which wedding. This week played out like a really bad movie. The Brits could have slugged it 'One Wedding and Two Funerals.'

May I sugggest a wedding gift to her be a panty girdle? When the woman stands sideways she looks like a set of keys. I've spent hours pondering why this lady bothers me. And I finally figured it out.

If she lived in a small American town, we'd consider her trash. She's basically nothing more than a cheater.A married lady who engineered a long time affair with a married man. There are not nice names for women like that.

With her track record she could get a walk-on (or a lie-down) on 'Desperate Housewives.' And now she is to be honored?

Crowned heads will fuss over her, invite her to castles, make her the chairlady of chairities like The Care and Feeding of the Engangered White Rhino of Tanzania.

She'll live in a palace? High society will pay homage? Buy her gifts? The rich and famous who have to pay to have dinner with this pair will call pals on cellphones to breathlessly announce, 'I acually spoke to Camilla?'

Next up is HBO makes a TV bio pic of them. A couple of queens in Greenwich Village who just saw the movie 'Beautshop' suggested Kevin Bacon.

I know now to be courteous. But these people haven't earned it. And I agree with Cindy Adams that to act like this is some wonderful love story is to set a terrible example for the young.

But when the "sainted: Princess Die (immortalized by Mojo Nixon in "Drunk, Divorced Floozie") whored around on her royal hubby, that is to be overlooked, or at least justified? Hmmm....

...set a terrible example for the young....

Madame, the 'terrible example' on primary display are the fingerpointing harridans (who I assume have unresolved adultery/divorce issues of their own) tut-tutting about the Royal wedding. I always find it amazing that normally-quite-sensible Freepers will dismiss the bias of the UK tabloid press- unless, of course, that bias is directed against members of the Royal family, in which case they rush to join the lynch mob. Cheers, Byron

"Have you ever seen Cindy Adams? Frump meets frump. A bad case of the pot calling the kettle black. Shut up, Cindy, you're a social climbing catty woman, worse than Camilla ever could be."

You know, if Camilla were a tad better looking and had once serviced Bubba instead of Charlie, Cindy would be gushing about "true love" ad naseum. Doncha just love them hypocritical liberal gossip mavens?

Psst. Any word on what Tina Brown thinks about the nuptials? (As if I care...)

Personally, I think Mr. and Mrs. Mountbatten-Windsor are two piles of crap. That said, Cindy Adams really isn't one who should be calling other women frumpy.

I may be a harridan, but I have no unresolved adultery/divorce issues. Not everyone does, you know.

"This wasn't a "mistake." It was deliberate, cruel and immoral. They have scarred others, including spouses and children, for life."

Most definitely. However, old Cindy was pretty indignant over Kenneth Starr going after Clinton's "private life" matters, as well as having celebrity friends who cheated, divorced, and then remarried. Something about a stopped clock being right...:)

You are royally right on. How could Cindy overlook the obvious most royal whore of all? Perhaps the new princess will be able to truly fill Princess Di's shoes.

Cindy...a suggestion. Get back to the tawdry tales you posture and leave Camilla alone. You didn't get an invite because as bad as Camilla may be, you aren't much better...and you are probably worse.

Cheating is wrong, plain and simple, but no one is perfect. We all have done a thing or two we are not proud of,I know I have.Obviously this was not a fling. They must be in love ,it lasted for 37 years.I still do not understand what her looks have to do with it,Prince Charles finds her attractive that's what counts.Do not buy a book by it's cover.I believe she looked very nice at her wedding.I think it's romance.Trashy is the way this article was written.

Hey, Cindy Adams is like 80 years old. Seriously. She looks damn good for an old bat.

But she is too mean towards Camilla. I really don't get all the hate of the last few days.

Quite frankly I think they should be left alone. He is a bit homely, she is not that bad looking. They both looked subdued and rather timid, ashamed maybe. There is no excuse for this ganging up on all the characters like it means something in our lives. They are not young anymore and maybe they made poor decisions 35 years ago,but we need to turn this page and just let them see if they can make a go of it now that it is legitimate. I am quite shocked by the visceral attacks from a hippocrite like Cyndi Adams, but equally shocked by all the other seemingly normal people. Diana does not deserve the slams either Let her rest in peace. We do not have to forgive all of them, just get on with our lives and so will they. Enough already!!!!!!!!!

Because Diana was cute, bulimic and blonde, it didn't matter that she drank and ran around with people that our mothers (who are not Her Majesty the Queen) would have locked us in our rooms for being seen with in public.

If I had to have everything I had ever done wrong in my life held up to ridicule on my wedding day -- AND had people who are not that good looking call me names and laugh at my hair, my teeth and my husband ... I think I would do what my sainted Southern Granny used to suggest. "Consider the source..."

I really admired Diana and came to realize she had her problems too ...she was only human, not the saint we thought. She did a pretty good job with her boys as far as I can tell and that's what was really important. The royals for centuries used the wives as broodmares and had mistresses galore. Diana just didn't accept this and went out and did it herself, she sure wasn't the only one. If she were still here she'd no doubt be remarried herself. Why should two people stay in a miserable marriage and why should two people who love each other not get married? It isn't as though the kids are going to be left unclothed and unfed. I'm no particular admirer of Camilla but do think they ought to be left alone.

What is the deal with these nasty old leftist media hags? I normally couldn't care less about British royals gossip, but the level of hate and venom these people have directed toward Charles and Camilla has been impossible to ignore. What's the matter, have they already tired of bashing the Pope?

(I could only wish)

Pulleeze, Cindy; WHO are you kidding, looking down at Camilla? You know. . .Camilla is one of 'yours'. . .she is a liberated woman and she has better credentials than most of your friends.

Good 'write' playing to 'values'; but Cindy; we know this is no more than a joke; or you are just in denial perhaps.

You cannot accept that a woman. . .a 'woman in full' so to speak; can have kept her man. . .before, during and after . . .the young Princess, Dianna.

Eat your heart out. . .and next story on this Royal match; should you do one; just try and tell the truth.

"Cindy calls the spade a spade."

I think she calls a 'heart' a spade'. . .

I mean, given this sin of Camilla's. . .I would like to know what Cindy calls 'her' friends. . .and the celebs she 'hangs with'. .

Did Cindy recently discover 'values'? Don't think so. . .

If true; where she gonna go with them and who will she take with her. . .

Think what bothers Cindy most; is that a woman; whose figure looks like a 'set of keys' (granted, she makes a good observation here. . .) has 'kept' the same man. . .lo these many years; even while married to the fairytale princess. . .

. . .that a woman; with a figure 'like a set of keys'. . .might just live. . .'happy ever after'.
