NEW INFORMATION RELEASED IN JESSICA LUNSFORD KILLING

Court documents say it's possible a nine-year-old Florida girl who was abducted and killed may have been alive when officers first questioned the suspect.

HOMOSASSA, Fla. (AP) - John Couey, who is a convicted sex offender, had been staying with his half-sister near the home of Jessica Lunsford. Police went to the half-sister's home twice while looking for the child, and said no suspicions were raised.

Police say that Couey later told them he was hiding in the home during the second interview.

The court documents released Thursday say that the timeline "leaves open the possibility" that Lunsford was alive during each interview. Sheriff Jeff Dawsy has said that Couey was in a "drug haze" during the abduction.

Lunsford was found sexually assaulted and buried near the mobile home.

I have been watching the re-run of Requiem Mass for almost two hours on CNN. When did they say this? I did not hear it in their recent news bleeps during the re-run of the Mass. How awful, awful, awful.

His sister, too. This was a trailer: the other people in the house, including the sister, HAD to know he had that little girl in there for TWO days (at least), they had to have heard to screams. And they did nothing. They lied to the police. When they could have spoken up and saved this wee one. Damnation to all of them.

This issue works me up and angers me more than any other I can think of. I'm angry there isn't more collective anger and outrage. As a society we protect blunt nosed leopard lizzards, pass seat belt laws, even mandate no child left behind and promote all manner of B.S. for the children......... all the while we purposely let loose animals we know are going to go back into society to create more victims.

I'm pissed!

Oh, I am so sick. I feel this churning in my stomach. Here I sit, watching the Pope's funeral for the second time, and just at the time of Communion I read this. I went limp. Oh, God, please let this not be true. This was suffering beyond understanding for that dear little girl.

they should have known that a sex offender lived there.

He didn't live there, he was staying there while registered somewhere else.Take a look at the sex offender registry in your area. How difficult would it be for the authorities to track their every movement?

Yes, I think they knew. I think they knew from the moment he brought her into the trailer. Trailer, not a house--in other words, sounds in one room would be easily heard in all the rest. A child screaming and crying would be be heard by everyone in the house! Then they did their best to help him escape. Death penalty for all of them.

(Not to jump too far off topic, but that is the one thing that infuriates me about the Jackson case--all these people knew he was a perv, and no one reported it? Scum, just like Jackson!)

I have been watching the Mass since it began at 7 p.m. ET. It was reported since Mass has been on going. I'm not sure if it was the end of Anderson Cooper or the end of Paula Zahn's hour. Since they have reported it once, they will probably report it again.

John Couey should be found sexually assaulted and buried near the mobile home.

Alternatively, he could be sentenced to "death with dignity" by Judge Greer, and deprived of food and water until he dies of thirst or starvation.

Ok...but I am trying so hard not to hold the terrible image of her alive in the ground that I am thinking of other possibilities. Could he have smothered her with a pillow, or something first? Maybe he did not have her in the trailer, but hidden someplace else. Then after he killed her, brought her there and buried her. Maybe she was not with the others at all.

Didn't he have a home only about 5 miles away? Maybe he kept her there until he murdered her. Maybe he had her tied up with something over her mouth and nose so that she did not breath, thus asphyxiation and when he discovered she was dead he took her to the trailer and buried her.

Being buried alive is a such a horribly nightmareish thought. I just cannot comprehend, emotionally. I hope we do not find this to be totally true.

The bastards sister needs to be charged as well for not telling police that her brother is a sex offender.

Exactly! They should be given the death penalty in this case IMO. Wouldn't she have known the girl was there? I mean it's not like the trailer was huge.

Oh...I certainly did not hear that (but I took a potty break!) OMG this is the most terrible thing I have heard in my entire life, I hope their conjectures are wrong. I am not arguing with anything that is being said, I just hope so much it happened differently and am trying to hold onto that hope.

These two should be put in a cell with thousands of creepy roaches, spiders, hungry rats and poisonous snakes and left there to be tortured, bitten and eaten alive. I hate to say this while I am trying to hold onto the Holy Spirit. This is a true test of my faith, for sure. But death, a quick death is too good for these two people if the story reported is true.

Sheriff Jeff Dawsy has said that Couey was in a "drug haze" during the abduction

Was he there? Just because the scum bag says that, he accepts it as fact? Hang the whole dam family and burn the house down to the ground and after that, fire the sheriff.

The bastard buried her alive....there isn't a place in hell hot enough for him.

Oh, dear God. I thought I was cynical enough that most news doesn't hurt me much anymore. But damn... that's just so beyond my ability to grasp.

This is part of a transcript from 10:00 a.m. this morning which does not mention the plastic bag and asphyxiation. CNN has not posted the transcript for this evening yet.

The Pope is Laid to Rest; Gas Prices Hits Record; Jessica Lunsford Alive During Search

You're listening to sounds of pilgrims clapping and chanting, "Santo, Santo," at the funeral of Pope John Paul II today. More than 100,000 people packed St. Peter's Square. That chant of "Santo" was a call for John II to be canonized. The crowd also cheered as the pope's coffin was turned to them one final time. John Paul's body was then carried inside St. Peter's Basilica for burial.

Here in the U.S., Jessica Lunsford may have been alive when officers visited a home where her alleged killer was staying. Deputies made two trips to John Couey's half sister's home after the Florida girl disappeared. According to court papers, Couey told investigators he was hiding in the house during the second visit.

Well, I'll say it again:

Human predators should be killed as soon as they are discovered. If this maggot was killed long ago, as he should have been, Jessica would be alive today.

This is a feature that all of the recent abduction-torture-murder of little girls share-that fact that someone was going to be abducted, raped, and murdered was perfectly clear, since the guilty party was set loose among the lambs by a sick, sick society.

Only the identity of the victim was in question.

BigFinn, I beg to differ on the value of crimecheck and related databases. They are of no value as long as the perpetrators-to-be are allowed to be at liberty.

The thought experiment: You, your young daughter, and another man are the only three people in the village. You learn that the other man has a brain defect in which the reptilian part of his brain is burning, awake and in dreams, 24/7, with fantasies of raping and murdering your little girl.

So, you have to kill him. No question about it-you have to sleep sometimes, your daughter has to go outside sometimes, there is no other choice.

What is different about society at large? We all have daughters. We all have to sleep sometimes.

What possible rationale is there for allowing men like Couey to be alive? Every day one of them lives, another little girl is going to die, horribly.

Kill them.
